CBSE releases Supplementary Content for Class XII Physics

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has recently uploaded supplementary study material on its website. The material  covers the additional sub-topics included in its Class XII theory syllabus for Physics, in the chapter on Communication Systems, for the March 2015 board examination.
The additional material covers various aspects of internet, mobile telephony and the Global Positioning System (GPS).
This content is not to be found in textbooks prescribed by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT). The students were earlier informed about the same by the board through a June 2014 notification.
As mentioned on a website, the supplementary material, which has already been made part of the syllabus which was announced earlier, has been uploaded in the public domain for the benefit of the students and teachers.

The Board functions under the overall supervision of the Controlling Authority which is vested with the Secretary (School Education& Literecy), Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. The Board has various statutory committees which are advisory in nature.
CBSE acts as the board of education for public as well as private schools and holds final examinations for Classes X and XII for affiliated schools. It is also responsible to hold few national entrance examinations for admission into different courses and is the largest examination conducting entity in India.
