The
official NTSE 2020 Notification has been issued on July 17, 2019. National
Talent Search Examination popularly known as NTSE is conducted by National
Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) for identifying and
nurturing the talented students who want to pursue higher education in Science
and Social Studies streams.
Based on student’s scores in Mental Ability
Test, Scholastic Aptitude Test, and Interview, the NTSE scholarships will be
distributed. Alike last year, 2000 scholarships will be awarded this year for
different stages.
a)
Scholarship of Rs. 1250/- per month for class XI and XII
b) Scholarship of Rs. 2000/- per month for Undergraduate and postgraduate
c) Amount of scholarship for Ph.D. is fixed in accordance with the UGC norms.

NTSE
Eligibility Criteria
Students of class X studying in recognized schools are
eligible to appear for the Stage-1 exam, conducted by the States/UTs, in which
the schools are located. There will be no domicile restriction. Students
registered under Open Distance Learning (ODL) will also be eligible for the
scholarship, provided the student is below the age of 18 years (as on 1st July
of the particular year), the student is not employed and she/he is appearing in
class X examination for the first time. Those students who quality NTSE Stage 1
are eligible for NTSE Stage 2.
NTSE 2020
Exam Dates
NTSE will be conducted in two stages:
1. NTSE Stage 1 exam will be held on November 2, 3
& 17, 2019.
2. The stage 2 exam will be held on May 10, 2020.
2. The stage 2 exam will be held on May 10, 2020.
Only those who qualify Stage 1 NTSE 2020 exam will be
called for the Stage 2 exam.

Note: There will be no negative marking
done in the NTSE Stage II exam.
