For the seven science colleges and its 2,800 seats the Gujarat University has begun online admission procedure in Ahmedabad. The only college which is left from its ambit is St. Xavier’s College.
The students who are willing to take admission in these science colleges for BSc courses would have to apply online through the website of Gujarat University. Though, the allotment of seats for these colleges would be offline. Every day 500 students would be called by the university and allocation of seats would be done on the basis of merit from June 20 to June 27. This would help make the process more streamlined and smoother without waiting in long queues and trouble in scorching summer for parents and students alike.
This whole process would get conducted way before the allotments for degree engineering, medical and paramedical courses begin in the university. According to officials the science admissions would take place after the first round of allotment of the degree engineering college seats are done. Making the whole process online would save enormous time of the students and parents as they do not have to personally go through all the colleges and apply for the desired courses.
