CLAT 2020 exam date announced; check changes in question paper format

The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT), that holds key to the top ranked national law schools of the country, will undergo changes in the question paper format for the upcoming year. The test will be held on May 10, 2020. The number of questions will be reduced from 200 to 120-150. The exam will remain off-line and for two hours. Comprehension based questions will be asked from quantitaive techniques, English, current affairs, deductive reasoning and logical reasoning. The decision was made at the consortium of NLUs at the Consortium’s permanent secretariat in Bengaluru on Thursday.
“The idea is to get better students to national law universities who have competence in reading texts and demonstrate skills in inferential reasoning. Asking students to answer 200 questions in 1220 minutes is not right as it puts students under a lot of mental stress,” said Faizan Mustafa, vice-chancellor, NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad. PG admission test will also have comprehension based questions. The descriptive portion will remain the same as last year. The consortium has also asked the executive council of CLAT 2020 to study the possibility of introducing cut off marks for LLM.
The consortium also launched a scheme of scholarship and fee concession for students of NLUs. It will also undertake faculty development programmes in the colleges and help in upgrading library, IT facilities and other infrastructure. CLAT will be held on May 10 The official notification regarding CLAT 2020 will be released in the last week of December 2019.

CLAT 2019: The registration process for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2019 is going to start from January 10, 2019 on its official website – clat.ac.in. The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) will be held on May 12 in pen- paper mode.

CLAT 2019: Last date for application process

The last date for submission of application is March 31.

Candidates who clear the CLAT exam will be eligible for admission to graduate and undergraduate courses in 21 NLUs across India.

CLAT 2019 application link will get active from January 10 onwards. Currently, the website is showing link for CLAT 2018.

CLAT 2019: Eligibility criteria

10+2 pass candidates are eligible to apply for the five year course and those with LLB degree are eligible to apply for the LLM degree.

This year, CLAT will be held in pen-paper (offline) mode. The decision was taken last year at the 4th meeting of the National Law University (NLU) Consortium at National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bangalore.

Last year a total of 54, 450 candidates took the CLAT on May 13.

Clat 2015 revised merit list

Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University has declared the revised rank list of Common Law Admission Test (Clat), 2015 for both UG and PG programmes.

RMLNLU registrar Jitendra Gangawar said, the revised rank list have been uploaded on the Clat website. Seat allotment in accordance with the revised ranks is likely to take place by June 8.The university will also provide individual question paper and response sheets to all candidates who have appeared in Clat.

Now, any candidate can view or download his/her individual question paper by logging to his/her personal login account.
