JEE candidates to get OMR copies for a fee

NEW DELHI: The candidates of Joint Entrance Examination (main) 2015 can get the photocopy of the OMR sheet, answer key and calculation sheet on request along with a prescribed fee. A notice was issued by the Central Board of Secondary Education on Wednesday, two days after the results were declared. 

According to the public notice, candidates who are interested in getting these documents must apply to the CBSE on or before June 8. The application must include a demand draft of Rs 500 (payable to secretary, CBSE, at New Delhi, issued by any scheduled bank). A candidate who has already applied under RTI Act 2005 may apply afresh for the same along with a required fee of Rs 500. 

The candidates should mention their roll no, name and address correctly in their application. The roll number and name should also be mentioned on the backside of the demand draft. The photocopy of the OMR sheet and calculation sheet will be provided to the candidate by speed post only. 


The documents will be made available only to the candidates themselves; hence, any application made on behalf of a candidate will be rejected. The Board will have the rights to reject incomplete applications and any application received after June 8. 

The Board will also not provide the OMR sheet and answer key to any institution or school for display or for commercial purposes. The print media has also been restricted from availing the documents. 

The JEE (main) decides entry into the National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and other institutes. The exam is also the first screening test for IIT aspirants. 

This year, a total of 12,92,711 aspirants registered for the exam of which 1,52,401 have qualified for the JEE (advanced) based on the cut-off declared. 

Candidates who are interested in getting OMR sheet, answer key and calculation sheet must apply to the CBSE on or before June 8.
