The JEE is an all India Engineering Entrance Exam, conducted
every year for students who wish to take admissions into various
engineering colleges and courses all over the country. The JAB, also
known as Joint Admission Board conducts the JEE Advanced exam. The
registration for the same will begin from April 29, 2016. While
registering, the candidates will be given a choice to choose the
language option of their question paper. JEE Advanced 2016 will be held
in two languages - English or Hindi. The paper will not be bilingual. If
a candidate is absent in one of the papers, then the candidate will be
considered as absent in the examination.
Number of attempts
A candidate is allowed to appear forJEE (Advanced) examination for a maximum of two times, that too consecutively. For securing admission into IITs and ISM, the candidates should either be in category wise top 20 percentile in Class 12 or must have scored at least 75 percent aggregate marks for general and OBC-NCL or 70 percent aggregate marks for SC, ST and PWD candidates.
Examination pattern
JEE is bifurcated into two parts: Main and Advanced. JEE (Main) is held is for admission in IIITs (Indian Institutes of Information Technology), NITs (National Institutes of Technology), CFTIs (Central Funded Technical Institute) and IIEST Shibpur, for admission to its dual degree programme.
JEE-Advanced, on the other hand, is for admission in Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), and Indian School of Mines Dhanbad (to be converted into IIT). JEE Advanced is the second stage of examination for admission in Indian Institute of Technology conducted by seven zonal IITs under Joint Admisison Board. Online registration for JEE Advanced 2016 will begin at 10 am on April 29, 2016 and will close by 5 pm on May 4, 2016.
