The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board will be
conducting WBJEE 2016 on May 17, 2016. This exam is conducted to offer
admissions to various undergraduate courses in central and state
government colleges in West Bengal. The registration for the same will
begin soon on the official website.
Eligibility criteria
Educational qualification:
The candidates interested in this must have passed Class 12 from West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or equivalent examination from a recognised council/board with individual passing marks in Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/a Technical Vocational Subject (Engineering Drawing/Computer Science).
Those seeking admissions in Jadavpur University must score a minimum of 60 percent marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics separately in case of general quota and 55 percent in case of SC/ST/PwD/PBC candidates. He/she must pass in English with a minimum of 30 percent marks (for all categories of candidates).
For architectural courses, the candidates must have cleared Class 12 with individual passing marks in Physics and Mathematics along with Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/a Technical Vocational Subject (Engineering Drawing/Computer Science).
Those applying for architectural courses should also qualify in the NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture), conducted by the Council of Architecture, New Delhi.
Paper pattern
The paper will contain questions from Biological Science, Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. All these subjects will contain 100 marks each except Biological Science, which will be of 150 marks.
Test centres
The exam will take place across various cities of West Bengal which includes Tripura, Agartala, Assam and Silchar.
