General Instructions

1. Candidates cannot register online individually. They have to register through registered centre (any school or college affiliated to state / centre boards can become a centre – read student and teacher brochure for details). The list of registered centres will be published on IAPT website on 1^st September, 2018)
2. Parents / students are requested to contact the principal’s of the school in which their ward is studying to register as a centre (there is no fees for centre registration).
3. Principals of the registered centres are hereby requested to enrol candidates from other schools, who approach you with necessary fee and help students to appear for the examination.
4. Students can go through student brochure for details of examination, eligibility criteria, selection procedure etc. The eligibility criteria announced in the brochure is final and no request for change will be entertained.
5. Student registration forms can be downloaded from the website. The filled in form should submitted to the centre-in-charge with necessary fee before the last date of registration.
6. One time registration fee is Rs 150/= per subject.
7. Students registering from states other than the state in which they are studying will be considered under the quota of the state of studying. Such students have to furnish Aadhar card and school ID card at the time of examination. Otherwise they will be disqualified for appearing for INO (if selected)

On 26^th November 2017, NSEP (National Standard Examination in Physics) – 2017 was exam is conducted by the Indian Association of Physics Teachers (IAPT) at many centers all over the country. NSEP is the stepping stage for selection of aspiring and talented students in the Physics Olympiad Program. The student can move forward to other stages only after clearing this stage.

Eligibility: Only Indian citizens with date of birth between 1 July 1998 and 30 June 2003, both days inclusive and studying in Class XII or lower as of November 30, 2017, can apply and appear for NSEP 2017. The student has to himself re-assure his eligibility. At any stage if the student is found to be not eligible for the exam, he/she may be disqualified from the program. The student must not be appearing in NSEJS 2017.

Syllabus: The syllabus for National Standard Examination in Physics (NSEP) is almost similar as the curriculum of senior secondary level (Class XI and Class XII) of CBSE. However, only basic guideline for the course is mentioned. No detailed syllabus is given for NSEP.

NSEJS – 2016 Exam A Detailed Analysis by Resonance

On 20^nd November 2016, NSEJS (National Standard Examination in Junior Science) – 2016 exam was conducted by the Indian Association of Physics Teachers (IAPT) at many centers all over the country. NSEJS is the stepping stage for selection of aspiring and talented students in the Junior Science Olympiad Program. The student can move forward to other stages only after clearing this stage.
Eligibility: Only Indian citizens born on or after January 1, 2002 and are students studying in Class X or lower as of November 30, 2016, can apply and appear for NSEJS 2015 − 2016. The student has to himself re-assure his eligibility. At any stage if the student is found to be not eligible for the exam, he/she may be disqualified from the program.
Syllabus: The syllabus for National Standard Examination in Junior Science (NSEJS) is almost similar as the curriculum of secondary level (Class IX and Class X) of CBSE. However, only basic guideline for the course is mentioned. No detailed syllabus is given for NSEJS. There were questions from physics, mathematics, biology and chemistry.
Question Paper: The medium of test was English only and it comprised of 80 objective type questions, each with only one of the four options correct with 3 marks each and -1 negative marking for incorrect answer.
Qualifying for the Second Stage: The basic objective of conducting this test is not focusing on merit but to involve as many students from the country to participate in the exam and try to show and expose their talent.
