IIT Gandhinagar begins admissions for Ph.D programmes

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Gandhinagar, has invited applications from aspirants for admissions to its Ph.D programmes. The institute is offering the Doctor of Philosophy course in various disciplines, such as Biological Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Cognitive Science, Computer Science & Engineering, Earth Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science & Engineering, Mathematics and Physics. The interested and eligible candidates may apply as per the given format.
Eligibility criteria:
Educational qualification: The candidates should have of these degrees- B.Tech, M.Tech, M.A, M.Sc or any equivalent degree.
Their qualifying degree should be from a recognised university or institute. The candidates should have a minimum score of 55 percent marks or 5.5 CPI in their qualifying degree.

IIT Kanpur launches a special course on Unmanned Air Vehicle (UAV)

Shortly after the announcement of launching a full-scale post-graduate and doctoral courses in Cognitive Science from the next academic year, IIT Kanpur has notified the introduction of a special course on Unmanned Air Vehicle (UAV) for the students. Popularly known as Drone Technology for students and professionals, the classes for the course will be under the guidance of the team that developed he first indigenous Long Endurance UAV.
Running its course over a period of 4 days, it will be conducted in the premises of IIT Kanpur itself. The interested students will be required to pay Rs 20,000 while fees for the professionals of higher order is Rs 40,000. The accommodation will be taken care of by the campus authorities.
The new course aims at providing hands-on training to participants for understanding and designing a UAV. There will also be flight trials and testing at Flight Lab of IIT Kanpur.
