IIM, Ahmedabad admissions 2015: Apply for Fellow Programme in Management programme

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad has released an admission notifcation, inviting interested and eligible candidates to enroll for its Fellow Program in Management (FPM) offered in various specializations for the academic session 2016.
Eligibility criteria
The candidates applying for this course should have a masters degree in any discipline, with at least 55 percent marks, with a bachelors degree/ equivalent qualification with at-least 50 percent marks obtained after a minimum of three years of education after completing higher secondary schooling (10 plus 12) or equivalent
or
Five year/four year integrated masters degree program in any discipline, with atleast 55 percent marks, obtained after completing higher secondary schooling (10 plus 2) or equivalent
or
A professional qualification like CA, ICWA, CS, with at least 55 percent marks
or
A 4-year/8-semester bachelors degree with at least 60 percent marks or equivalent grade point average.
Selection procedure
The candidate will be shortlisted on the basis of scores obtained in either of the exams such as CAT / GATE / UGC JRF / GMAT / GRE / ICAR-SRF).  Thereafter, an interview will be conducted for the selection. The purpose of the interview is to gauge the academic preparation of the candidate for the programme.

IIT, Bombay admissions 2015: Apply for Ph.D programmes

The Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay has released an admission notification, inviting interested and eligible candidates to enroll for its Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) programs offered in various disciplines for spring semester of the academic year 2015-16.
Eligibility criteria
The candidates must have completed master's degree in Engineering/Technology or equivalent degree, with first class or 60 percent marks.
The candidates should also possess one of the following:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology with first class or 60 percent marks.
or
Master's degree in Science or equivalent degree, with first class or 60 percent marks.
or
Master's degree in Arts/Commerce or equivalent degree with a minimum of 55 percent marks, only for admission to the Ph.D. programs offered by the Industrial.

University of Hyderabad admissions 2015: Apply for Ph.D programme


Ph.D admissions

The University of Hyderabad has released an admission notification, inviting interested and eligible candidates to enroll for its Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) program offered in various areas for candidates who are exempted from written test component for the session October 2015.
Eligibility criteria
The candidates applying for this course should have a master's degree in concerned or related subjects with at least 55 percent marks or equivalent grade. The candidates who are completing their final examinations by June 2015 are also eligible to apply.
For Ph.D. Electronics Science, candidates having GATE are also eligible to apply.
Selection procedure
An interview would be conducted for the candidates for the admission. Awardees of JRF/ NBHM/ ICMR/ ICAR/ DBT / RGNF / MANF /DST INSPIRE are exempted from the written test only. They will have to appear for the interview.

Application fee:
The candidates belonging to the general and OBC category have to pay Rs 350 as the application fee and  candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD (PH) category have to pay Rs 150. IIT Gandhinagar begins admissions for Ph.D programmes

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Gandhinagar, has invited applications from aspirants for admissions to its Ph.D programmes. The institute is offering the Doctor of Philosophy course in various disciplines, such as Biological Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Cognitive Science, Computer Science & Engineering, Earth Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science & Engineering, Mathematics and Physics. Eligibility criteria:

The Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode has invited applications from working professionals to enroll for its 8th batch of Executive Post Graduate Programme in Management (EPGP-08).
The duration of the course is 2 years.
Eligibility criteria
The candidates applying for this course should possess a Bachelor's Degree or its equivalent in any discipline with atleast 50 percent aggregate mark or equivalent CGPA.

IIT admissions 2015: Important information for preparatory courses


IIT preparatory courses admissions

The seat allocation process for preparatory courses at Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) was conducted on July 22. The candidates are allowed to accept the seats and go to their respective reporting centre up till 5 pm on July 26.
There are a total of 185 seats for preparatory courses, the institutes offering these courses are the host institutes, and the institutes to which the candidates will be admitted are the parent institutes.
The details for admissions for preparatory courses are mentioned below:

  • Parent institutes for IIT Bombay: III Bombay (4 seats), IIT Gandhinagar (4 seats) and IIT Jodhpur (3 seats)

University of Lucknow (LU), Lucknow commences its M.Sc admissions 2015

The University of Lucknow (LU), Lucknow has invited applications from interested and eligible candidates to enrol for its Master of Science (M.Sc) program in Food Processing and Food Technology (CBCS) for the academic session 2015. The course would be of a 2 years duration.
Eligibility Criteria
The applicant must possess a three year B.Sc. degree in any stream with a minimum of 50 per cent marks (for general and OBC candidates) and 45 per cent (for SC/ST candidates). Minimum second class for Agriculture/ Horticulture/ Engineering/ Technology.
Selection Procedure
An interview and an entrance test would be conducted to evaluate candidate's performance and along with it the marks scored in bachelor's degree would also be the criteria to shortlist candidates.
The entrance test would be of a two hours duration and negative marking would not be done in the test. The paper will consist of multiple choice questions.

IIT admissions 2015: Seat allocation for preparatory courses begins

The seat allocation process for preparatory courses at Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) has begun today i.e. July 22. The candidates will be allotted seats today. The candidates will be allowed to accept the seats and go to their respective reporting centres, starting at 10 am on July 23 up till 5 pm on July 26.
The third round of seat allotment for admissions to IITs, NITs and various other technology institutes was concluded on July 21. The admission process is being conducted by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) for JEE Main Paper I and Paper II and JEE Advanced 2015.
The candidates who were allotted a seat in any round of seat allocation and had reported at their designated centre too, but wish to change their sliding option to floating or freeze or vice-versa can report to the same centre, with a new undertaking stating their choice. They are required to carry a confirmation of document verification, round two allotment letter and their JEE Main 2015 admit card.

JEE admissions 2015: Important information on seat allotment

The second round of seat allotment for admissions to IITs, NITs and various other technology institutes will be concluded today. The admission process is being conducted by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) for JEE Main Paper I and Paper II and JEE Advanced 2015.
The candidates who were allotted a seat in round one of seat allocation and reported at their designated centre, but wish to change their sliding option to floating or freeze or vice-versa, should report to the same centre with a new undertaking stating their choice. They are required to carry with them the confirmation of document verification, round two allotment letter and their JEE Main 2015 admit card.
The students who get a seat are required to report to their respective centres for admission to IITs and NITs, if they fail to do so then they will be excluded from the admission process and won't be eligible to participate in the subsequent allotment rounds either.
 If the students choose to 'freeze' the seat then they won't be allowed to make any changes in the following seat allocation rounds, however, if they wish to keep their options open for an upgrade they need to select the 'floating' option. If the students want an course upgrade at the same institute where they were allotted the seat, they will have to choose the sliding option.
There are a total of 87 participating institutes, 17 are Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), 31 are National Institutes of Technology (NITs), 18 are Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), 18 are Government Funded Technical Institutions (GFTIs) and Indian School of Mines (ISM).

JEE Advanced: Computer Science, Electrical Engineering emerge the most sought-after courses at IITs

The courses Computer Science and Electrical Engineering have emerged as the most popular courses among the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) aspirants.
There are a total of 990 seats available for Computer Science across the 18 IITs, for which 2.09 lakh applications have been submitted. This means that there are 209 candidates competing for each seat.
This is the first time that a joint seat allocation is being conducted for admissions to all IITs and NITs. After Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering and Civil Engineering were the most popular choices among the students.
Over the years, Mechanical Engineering has been the most sought-after course. However, placements at prestigious organisations, challenging projects and high salaries by companies like Google, Facebook, Microsoft, Twitter etc. have drawn students to Computer Science.

Mumbai University Admissions: Final merit list likely to be out today at mu.ac.in



Mumbai University has begun its undergraduate admissions and has received around 2.5 lakh applications. Out of the total applications received, over 1 lakh applicants submitted completed option forms, as well.  The most number of applicants were recorded at 51,898 in the Mumbai West region, while North Mumbai had the second largest number of applicants at 34,712.
Many colleges in Mumbai witnessed chaos as the first merit list for degree college admissions was announced on June 16. The lists, which were supposed to be out by 6 pm, were not displayed until 7 pm in many colleges, adding to the students' anxiety.
The online procedure apparently made the admission process, even more tedious for the students. Most students were confused about the timings for submission of printed copy of enrollment forms.
The decision to display a general merit list was taken following recommendations of the Bombay High Court.
The University of Mumbai is one of the oldest and premier Universities in India. It was established in 1857 and was one of the first three universities established.
Important dates:
Last date for verification of documents and payment of fees for second merit list students: June 22, till 1:30 pm.
Third and final merit list: June 22 at 6:00 pm.
Verification of documents and submission of fees: June 24 till 1: 30 pm.

AIIMS UG & PG (Nursing) Admissions 2014:

All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, declares admissions for M.Sc./M.Biotechnology/B.Sc. (Nursing) for the academic year 2014.
 
 Candidates seeking admissions to AIIMS for M.Sc./M.Biotechnology/B.Sc. (Nursing) have to write an online entrance examination.
 
 Admission will be made entirely on the basis of performance of candidates at the entrance examination to be conducted in Delhi. There shall be a uniform minimum cut-off of 50% marks (for all PG Courses) in the competitive entrance test as a condition of eligibility for all candidates.

NMIMS announces admissions to UG programmes via NMAT 2014

IGDTUW announces admissions to B Tech, M Tech, MCA and Ph D programmes

The Indira Gandhi Delhi Technological University for Women (IGDTUW) has announced admissions for the academic year 2014 for undergraduate and postgraduate courses. For the first time, both male and female students can apply to the Ph D programmes. 
 
Admissions are open for M Tech and Ph D programmes via the online mode. 
 
Nupur Prakash, vice-chancellor, IGDTUW said, "This year, PhD programmes in various branches of engineering, science and technology have been introduced for both male and female candidates. The university is offering teaching-cum-research fellowship to PhD scholars of Rs 20,000 per month for three years along with Rs 20,000 annual contingency grant. The teachingcum-research fellows would be registered for PhD programme as full-time research scholars and would also be required to take teaching load and academic responsibilities of a minimum of 10 hours per week. Admissions to MTech and PhD programme will be done through online mode along with OMR forms, which will be sold as part of the university brochure. The online registration and submission of forms will commence from June.

IIIT-Delhi announces B.Tech admissions 2014.

Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology Delhi (IIIT-D) announces admissions to Bachelor of Technology for the academic year 2014-2016.
 
 Admission Criteria: 
 Admission will be based on the total marks obtained in Paper 1 of JEE Main 2014 and score in Class 12th or other qualifying exam (60% & 40% weightage respectively). 
 
 Eligibility: 
80% or more marks in the aggregate and 80% or more in Mathematics in class XII from CBSE/ICSE/IB board or equivalent
