JEE (Main) exam for the session 2014 was conducted on April 6 (paper
based) and April 9, April 11, April 12 and April 19 (online) wherein
13.56 lakh candidates appeared. The results for the same were declared
on May 3. Pramod Vakacharla from Sulurapeta in Nellore district grabbed
355 out of 360 and topped the exam. Around 1.54 lakh candidates made it
to the next phase and were qualified to take
JEE(Advanced) , 28,666 of them are girls.
The
counseling session for JEE (Main) is scheduled to commence from July 1
as per a website. The counseling phase will have four rounds of seat
allotment unlike last year where there were only three rounds.
Thereafter, a spot admission round will be conducted.
The
JEE (Mains) score is used by students for admissions to undergraduate
engineering programmes in NITs, IIITs and other centrally funded
technical institutions in India.
