NEW DELHI: In order to make practicals even more hands-on and state-of-the-art, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan is modernizing science and mathematics laboratories
in its schools at Rs 110 crore. The project deadline is 2015. The first
phase will cover laboratories of 250 schools by June 2014. KVS
is also planning to set up language laboratories and introduce French
and Chinese from this year. All laboratories across 1,100 Kendriya
Vidyalayas will be modernized by 2015. Speaking to TOI, KVS
commissioner Avinash Dikshit said modernizing of school laboratories
will be one of the major activities of the Sangathan this financial
year. "The target is to cover 250 schools spread across the region by
June 2014," he said.
