On 10^th April 2016, AMU Medical Exam – 2016 was conducted by Aligarh Muslim University for admission of candidates in various medical under graduate courses such as BDS, MBBS, and Nursing in the University. This exam is conducted in 2 rounds and this was the first round also known as First Tier. The second tier will be conducted on 29 May, 2016.

AMU Medical 2016 is a national level entrance exam conducted for admission to around 180 MBBS and BDS seats. Among the 180, 145 are MBBS seats in Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College and 35 are BDS seats in Dr. Ziauddin Ahmad Dental College. The admission to undergraduate medical and dental programmes will be strictly done on the basis of candidate’s marks and rank scored in AMU Medical 2016 Exam.

No Weightage Of Class XII Marks In JEE Ranking From 2017: Education Ministry

Class XII marks will not be a factor in Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) rankings for admissions in engineering undergraduate courses starting next year, the Human Resource Development ministry headed by Smriti Irani said on Thursday.

Ministry officials said the decision was taken after a committee set up by IIT Council submitted recommendations on changes in the JEE pattern, which were put in the public domain for wide consultations.
“After examining the Ashok Mishra Committee’s report and public feedback, MHRD has decided on a few changes in the JEE pattern for 2017. The present system of allotting 40 per cent weightage to Class XII marks for determining ranks in JEE shall be dispensed with,” an official said.

“Class XII scores will be a crucial parameter only for determining the eligibility criteria for the exam,” the official added.

To qualify for appearing in exam, students need to have at least 75 per cent marks or be in top 20 percentile in Class XII examination. SC, ST students should have 65 per cent marks. “All other JEE examination systems shall remain unchanged,” the official said.
The committee had in November recommended major changes in the JEE structure, including setting up of a National Testing Service to conduct tests for shortlisting about four lakh students for the exam.
The Ministry had put the Committee’s recommendations in the public domain for wide consultations and decided that the JEE 2016 be conducted in the manner it was held in 2015, with an enhanced intake from 1.5 lakh to 2 lakh in the JEE (Advanced) stage.

On 3-April-2016, JEE (Main) 2016 was conducted for students opting to take this exam by offline mode. This is the fourth edition of this Exam after wide ranging changes were introduced in year 2013 by CBSE and Ministry of HRD. Around 12 Lakh students are slated to appear for this exam in offline and online modes.

JEE (Main) 2016 was conducted in two parts (Paper 1 and Paper 2). Paper 1 was conducted from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and Paper 2 for B. Arch. Aspirants was conducted from 2 pm to 5 pm.

Paper 1 was for students applying for engineering seats in engineering colleges, while paper 2 was for students applying for B. Arch degrees

The analysis below pertains to only Paper 1, which was for engineering aspirants.

Overall Marks Distribution

The paper pattern was same as last year. The paper had 90 questions each worth 4 marks. All questions were objective type with single correct option. Subject wise each subject had 30 questions of 120 marks.

407 Students of Resonance Awarded KVPY Fellowship Award

Our special journey which started 15 years back has achieved a new milestone in 2016. In the recently declared result of KVPY 2015 (Stage II), 407 students are selected out of the 200 students selected from classroom and 207 students from (DLPD+ELPD). Below is the comparison of KVPY selections from Resonance of last years.

The Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) is an on-going National Program of Fellowship in Basic Sciences, initiated and funded by the Department of Science and Technology, Bengaluru, Government of India whose objective is to identify students with talent and aptitude for research.

The first stage consists of written test followed by interview stage having weightage of 25% and 75% respectively.

Scholarship ranging from Rs.5000 to 7000 are provided to selected students till pre PhD level.

Key highlights of the result is as follows:

1. 150 students are selected in SA Stream( classroom:77, DLPD+ELPD: 73)
2. 256 students are selected in SX Stream( classroom:123, DLPD+ELPD: 133)
3. 1 student is selected in SB Stream

Moreover, Resonance has produced 3 state toppers with Yash Jain AIR -8, (Raj. State Topper), Ninad Huilgol AIR- 17, (Karnataka state topper) and Anubhav Satpathy AIR-29 (Odisha state Topper) in SA Stream and all three students are classroom students.

Also Kalpit Veerwal student of resonance Udaipur secured AIR -1 in (ST/SC) Category in SA Stream
