Karnataka Postgraduate Common Entrance Test: Exam schedule


Karnataka PGCET

The Karnataka Exams Authority (KEA) has announced the date for the Postgraduate Common Entrance Test (PGCET) 2015. The exam is scheduled to be held on August 8 and 9.
KEA conducts PGCET for admissions to Master of Technology (M.Tech), Master of Engineering (M.E.), Master of Computer Application (MCA), lateral entry to MCA, Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Architecture (M.Arch.). The entrance exam is being conducted for admissions to the upcoming academic session of 2015.
Eligibility criteria:
MCA: The candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in any of these disciplines- Mathematics, statistics, Computer Science, Computer Application, Computer Programming, Business Mathematics or Business Statistics. They should have a score of minimum 50 percent in their qualifying examination.
M.E., M.Tech and M.Arch: The candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in their respective field form a recognised university or institute. They should have a score of minimum 50 percent in their qualifying examination.
Application procedure: The candidates are required to apply online at the official website, www.kea.kar.nic.in.
Application fee: The candidates under the General and OBC categories have to pay a fee of Rs 650, and those under the SC and ST categories have to pay Rs 500.
Important dates:
  • The last date for submitting online applications is July 23
  • The last date for fee payment is July 25
  • The PGCET for M.E., M.Tech and M.Arch will be held on August 8
  • The PGCET for MCA will be held on August 9

Anna University invites applications for distance MCA programme 2014

Anna University Centre for Distance Education (CDE), Chennai, has invited application for admission to the distance Master of Computer Application (MCA) programme for the 2014-2015 session.
To get admission in the three-year distance MCA  programme, candidates will have to clear the Distance Education Entrance Test (DEET) conducted by the CDE, Anna University, Chennai. The programme is divided into six semesters. 
Education Criteria: The candidates who want to apply for the distance MCA programme should have passed any bachelor's degree after clearing 10+2 or equivalent examinations.

IGDTUW announces admissions to B Tech, M Tech, MCA and Ph D programmes

The Indira Gandhi Delhi Technological University for Women (IGDTUW) has announced admissions for the academic year 2014 for undergraduate and postgraduate courses. For the first time, both male and female students can apply to the Ph D programmes. 
 
Admissions are open for M Tech and Ph D programmes via the online mode. 
 
Nupur Prakash, vice-chancellor, IGDTUW said, "This year, PhD programmes in various branches of engineering, science and technology have been introduced for both male and female candidates. The university is offering teaching-cum-research fellowship to PhD scholars of Rs 20,000 per month for three years along with Rs 20,000 annual contingency grant. The teachingcum-research fellows would be registered for PhD programme as full-time research scholars and would also be required to take teaching load and academic responsibilities of a minimum of 10 hours per week. Admissions to MTech and PhD programme will be done through online mode along with OMR forms, which will be sold as part of the university brochure. The online registration and submission of forms will commence from June.

VITMEE 2014: Schedule, Pattern and Language

VIT University, Vellore, has started the issuing application for VIT Masters Entrance Examination (VITMEE-2014). 
 
VITMEE 2014 is a computer based online test.
 
 VITMEE 2014 entrance exam is conducted for admission to Master of Computer Application (MCA) and Master of Technology (M.Tech) programme in Chennai and Vellore campuses.
