IIT Kanpur announces dates for JAM 2014

The Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT), Kanpur has announced the dates for Joint Admission Test for M.Sc (JAM) Exam 2014. The exam will be conducted on February 09 (Sunday), 2014.

JAM is conducted for the following courses: M.Sc. (two year), Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D., M.Sc.-Ph.D, Dual degree M.Sc.-M.Tech and other Post-Bachelor's degree programmes in IITs and into Integrated Ph.D. programmes at IISc.

Odisha JEE 2014 aspirants can apply online in between Jan 31 and March 15

Odisha Joint Entrance Exam (OJEE 2014) aspirants can apply online in between Jan 31 and March 15. The OJEE committee in a press release issued on Thursday stated that the students who wish to appear the test can apply online within the stipulated time frame. The joint examination would be held in the month of May, the release informed.

It should be noted that the OJEE  is the qualifying entrance exam conducted for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the state. OJEE  is conducted for admission to first year degree course in Engineering / Technology / Architecture / Pharmacy / Homeopathy / Ayurveda and Dual Degree course in Master’s degree in Applied Mathematics (MAM) & Master’s degree in Computer Application (MCA) and lateral admission to Second year Engineering / Technology / Pharmacy / Architecture / MCA and first year Master’s degree courses MCA, MBA, M.Tech, M.Pharm and M.Arch commencing in 2014.

It should be noted earlier, Odisha government had decided to scrap the OJEE by accepting JEE Main exam scores for admission to professional courses. The state private engineering colleges association members were opposed the move. Later the state government decided to continue with the OJEE entrance examination.

ICSI to introduce Open Book Examination for professional courses

The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI), New Delhi is all ready to add a new examination, namely Open Book Examination, of elective subjects (Paper-9) in module III of professional programme from June 2014.

Professional programme offers five elective subjects:

•     Banking Law and Practice
•     Capital Commodity and Money Market
•     Insurance Law and Practice
•     Intellectual Property Rights - Law and Practice
•     International Business - Laws and Practices

Out of all these five subjects, the student needs to select any one subject, according to the interest, ability and career goal.

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has finally announced the dates of All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT) 2014. CBSE shall be conducting the AIPMT 2014 on the scheduled date, i.e.; May 4, 2014.

Combined Biotechnology entrance exam 2014 by JNU

On behalf of the participating Universities, the Jawaharlal Nehru University will hold Combined Biotechnology Entrance Examination on May 19, 2014 for admission to M.Sc (Biotechnology), M.Sc.Agri/ M.V.Sc (Biotechnology) and M.Tech (Biotechnology) Programmes being offered by various participating Universities (as per details given against each).

 

 Eligibility:

 For eligibility, candidates need to refer the detailed notification on the official wesite of JNU. 

 

 Tuition fee/ Scholarship: 

Fee shall be charged from the admitted candidates as per the fee structure of the concerned University. Candidates selected for admission are generally eligible for scholarship at the rates prescribed by the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India. 

 

How to apply: 

• Candidates can apply either "online" or "offline". Online Application: Candidates can apply online on payment of prescribed fee if they have access to a computer, a printer and Internet by logging on to JNU website www.jnu.ac.in. Online application portal will remain open from 10:00 AM (IST) on 7th February, 2014 till 5:00 PM (IST) on 26th March, 2014. 

BVDU invites applications for its BASLP programme 2014

Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University, pune, invites applications for its Bachelor in Audiology And Speech Language Pathology programme 2014-15. Candidates can apply online by logging on to the official web site of the University. 

 Eligibility: 

For admission to BASLP course, the candidate should have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology or mathematics & English individually and must have obtained 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry & Biology or mathematics taken together at the qualifying examination i.e. H.S.C/ 10+2 or equivalent.
