JEE Mains 2014: Do's and Don'ts

Only a few days are left for the JEE (Joint Entrance Exam) Mains 2014 exam, which can be your ticket to your dream engineering or architecture undergraduate course. Competing with 13.57 lakh aspirants won't be easy, especially not if you are aiming for the elite Indian Institute of Technology by attempting the JEE Advanced 2014, which only the top 1.5 lakh rank holders of JEE Mains will be eligible to appear for. Here is a list of key Do's and Don'ts as you count down the days to JEE Mains 2014
 
Do's

1. Do regular home work and study
2. Self-study is essential
3. Make sure to complete the syllabus

4. Revise often
5. Revise your notes written in the class rooms
6. Go through the solutions of problems solved earlier
7. Practice filling in OMR answer-sheets to improve speed
8. Remember to exercise regularly and relax
9. Aim for a balanced score, a good rank can be achieved by scoring well in two subjects and above average in one
10. Try to score above average marks in your weakest subject
11. During the exam it's important to select the right questions, the number of correctly attempted questions will decide your fate
12. Keep calm during the exam
13. Most important is a positive attitude
 
Don'ts

1. Don't be impatient while solving questions
2. Don't select an answer before reading all the options
3. Don't become restless
4. Avoid losing too much time solving a single question
5. Sleep for a minimum of 6-7 hours
6. Don't worry if you are not able to solve a question; move on to the next one
7. Don't start studying new topics at this point, revise what you have prepared
8. Don't panic
