MBBS admissions 2014: Supreme Court and MCI announce important dates

The Supreme Court, in consultation with the Medical Council of India, has released the important dates and admission schedule for admission to undergraduate medical MBBS courses for the academic year 2014 - 2015. A total of two schedules have been announced by SC; one schedule to be followed by State Government/Institutions and the other to be followed by Central Government for admissions based on the all India entrance exam i.e. All India Pre Medical entrance Test  for the year 2014.

State Government/ Institutions Admissions  
1. Examination to be held: during the month of May
2. Declaration of Result of qualifying examination/entrance examination: by June 5
3. 1st Round of counseling/admission to end by: June 25
4. Last date for joining the college and course allotted in 1st Round of counseling: July 3
5. 2nd Round of counseling/ admission to end by: July 27

6. Last date for joining for the candidates allotted seats in 2nd Round of counseling: August 2
7. 3rd Round of counseling: from September 6 to September 10
8. Last date for joining for the candidates allotted seats in 3rd round of counseling: September 17
9. Commencement of academic session: September 1
10. Last date up to which students can be admitted against vacancies arising due to any reason: September        30

Central Government Admissions through all India entrance exam (AIPMT for 2014)1. Examination to be held: during the month of May
2. Declaration of Result of qualifying examination/entrance examination: by June 5
3. 1st Round of counseling/admission: from July 1 to July 11
4. Last date for joining the college and course allotted in 1st Round of counseling: July 21
5. 2nd Round of counseling/ admission: from August 1 to August 4
6. Last date for joining for the candidates allotted seats in 2nd Round of counseling: August 16
7. 3rd Round of counseling: from August 17 to August 26
8. Last date for joining for the candidates allotted seats in 3rd round of counseling: September 5
9. Commencement of academic session 1st September

Based on the success of the MBBS admission schedule announced by Supreme Court in conjunction with Medical Council of India, the format of releasing an official academic schedule may be applied in the upcoming years as well.
