MH-CET to make a comeback for engineering admissions from 2016

As per the officials of the Maharashtra higher and technical education department, the MH-CET, which stands for Maharashtra common entrance test, will replace JEE Main from 2016, to grant admissions to first year B.E/B.Tech programmes. So for getting admission to Engineering courses in the state, students will have to appear for this exam. Last time the exam was last conducted in 2013 and admissions to engineering programmes was done through JEE Main.
The announcement regarding the state's plan to conduct its own common entrance test (CET) for engineering admissions was made by Vinod Tawde, the minister for higher and technical education.
Official notification regarding the MH CET 2016 eligibility criteria and application procedure will be released soon at the official website.
After the re-introduction of the CET, JEE (Main) system for  admission into the state engineering colleges will be scrapped off. As per newspaper reports, since the application process for JEE Main 2015 is already over, there will be no changes this year. However from next year CET will make a comeback. JEE Main is an all India engineering entrance examination held by the CBSE.

GATE 2016: Know the mode of fee payment

The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) will going to conduct the Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineering (GATE) 2016. The exam is slated to be held from January  30 to February 7. The eligible and interested candidates must apply online on or before October 1.
To know the mode of fee payment, the candidates must follow the steps jotted below:
  • From the GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS), you will be redirected to the website of the bank of your choice
  • The fee can be paid with net-banking or debit card or e-challan
  • The fee amount and bank charges will be shown. The candidates must confirm the payment details
  • Once you confirm and the payment is successful, you will be redirected back to the GATE Online application website
  • If you have a difficulty (due to internet connection or power failure, for example), and you are not sure whether your payment has been processed or not, then please login back to GOAPS and check the status of the payment. You can also check the status from your bank

The Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineering (GATE) 2016 to be conducted by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) for the upcoming session. The registration procedure has already begun. The eligible candidates must apply through the official website by October 1.
To know how to apply for GATE 2016, the candidates must follow the steps mentioned below:
  • The candidates should visit the website, the link for which is: appsgate.iisc.ernet.in
  • The candidates must first register by providing a valid email address, mobile number and a GOAPS password. All information from the GATE Offices will be sent to this email address (only one person can register with one e-mail address)
  • The candidates choose a password during registration procedure at GOAPS, they must remember the password for future reference
  • After registration, an email containing the GOAPS enrolment ID will be sent to the candidates
  • Thereafter, the candidates must enter the required details

Central Teacher Eligibility Test 2015: Download admit cards from September 4

The Central Board of Secondary Education has announced that it will release the admit cards for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test on September 4. The candidates who had applied to appear for the examination will be able to download their admit cards from the official website, www.ctet.nic.in.
The candidates will be able to download their admit cards by following the steps mentioned below"
  • Go to www.ctet.nic.in
  • Click on the tab 'Admit card'
  • Click on the link provided for downloading admit cards
  • Enter the required details, such as name, roll number, etc.
  • Submit the details
  • The admit card will be displayed on the screens
The candidates are required to download their admit card and take a printout of the same and appear for the examination at the given centre.

IIT Gandhinagar begins admissions for Ph.D programmes

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Gandhinagar, has invited applications from aspirants for admissions to its Ph.D programmes. The institute is offering the Doctor of Philosophy course in various disciplines, such as Biological Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Cognitive Science, Computer Science & Engineering, Earth Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science & Engineering, Mathematics and Physics. The interested and eligible candidates may apply as per the given format.
Eligibility criteria:
Educational qualification: The candidates should have of these degrees- B.Tech, M.Tech, M.A, M.Sc or any equivalent degree.
Their qualifying degree should be from a recognised university or institute. The candidates should have a minimum score of 55 percent marks or 5.5 CPI in their qualifying degree.

IIM, Kozhikode admissions 2015: Apply for Executive PGP in Management program

The Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode has invited applications from working professionals to enroll for its 8th batch of Executive Post Graduate Programme in Management (EPGP-08).
The duration of the course is 2 years.
Eligibility criteria
The candidates applying for this course should possess a Bachelor's Degree or its equivalent in any discipline with atleast 50 percent aggregate mark or equivalent CGPA.
The candidate should also possess 5 years of managerial/ entrepreneurial/ professional experience after successful completion of graduation as on September 25, 2015.

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has declared the result of Combined Defence Services Examination (II), 2014. The candidates can fetch the result on the official website, the link for which is: upsc.gov.in
How to check?
  • Go to the official website
  • Click on the link, 'Final Result - CDSE (II), 2014, OTA Course'
Submit the same. The result will be displayed on the screen in a pdf file. The candidates must take a print-out for future reference.  In total 262 candidates have passed the examination. The marks of the candidates will be available on the official website within 60 days from the declaration of the results.
