JEE for hotel management on April 26

The Institute of Hotel Management-Bangalore (IHM-B), established jointly by the Union and State governments, will conduct Hotel Management Joint Entrance Exam (JEE)-2014 on April 26, 2014.
“There are 21 IHMs (of the Central government), 17 IHMs (of State governments), 19 private IHMs and six food craft institutes affiliated to the National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology, an autonomous body under the Ministry of Tourism. The JEE-2014 will be held to fill seats in all these institutes,” IHM-B Principal, V R Venkatadri, told reporters here on Monday.

The applications invited are for three-year degree in hospitality and hotel administration. IHM, the only Central government-sponsored institute in Karnataka, has 230 seats for the degree programme. Candidates, who want to apply, must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with English as one of the subjects. The academic session would commence on July 28, added Venkatadri.
Head of department at IHM, S Kannan, said subjects offered for the three-year-course ranged from front office operations, housekeeping, food and beverage service, law and tourism services, sales and marketing. He said other courses such as MSc in hospitality administration and certificate courses on food production were available at the college located at  S J P Polytechnic Complex, Seshadri Road, Bangalore. The application form is available online on https://applyadmission. net/nchmjee2014/ till April 7. While the result would come out in the second week of May, counselling would be held in the first week of June. For details, call 1800 180 3151 on any working day, he said.
