JEE Mains 2014: Class 12 students attempting Computer based test may apply to CBSE for new exam slot if dates coincide

JEE Mains 2014 exam, conducted both in pen and paper mode and computer-based, gave aspirants the option to select their own exam date for the computer-based exam till January 17. After receiving requests from aspirants worried about the clash of dates of the board examination with JEE Mains computer-based exams, CBSE has given the option for change in exam slots for the latter.

Class 12th students with coinciding exam dates may send a copy of their Class 12 exam admit cards by e-mail to www.jeemain@nic.in latest by March 15 with their JEE (Main) 2014 application number. The copy of the admit card and request for date change should be sent by e-mail only; requests sent by post or to any other e-mail id won't be considered. The candidiates will be allotted other available exam dates for the JEE Mains computer-based examination.


JEE Mains 2014 computer based exam dates are:
9 April (coinciding with CBSE Class 12 Urdu exam)
11 April (coinciding with CBSE Class 12 Home Science exam)
12 April (coinciding with CBSE Class 12 Philosophy and Class 12 Entrepreneurship exams)
19 April

The JEE (Joint Entrance Exam) Mains is used for admission to undergraduate Engineering and Architecture courses. The top 1.5 lakh students will be eligible to attempt the JEE Advanced exam, used for admission to the IITs. Although JEE Mains offers both online and offline based examinations, the offline exam format has been more popular. From the total 13.56 lakh candidates having registered for the JEE Mains 2014 exam, only 1.71 lakh candidates have registered for the computer based exam format.
