Putting behind all the disruption in the examination process, the entrance examinations to BDS and B.Tech were re-conducted successfully by the Jamia Milia Islamia University. The entrance exams that were scheduled to be held on June 13 and June 14 were re-scheduled due to a cheating scam in the B.Tech Entrance.
Keeping in mind the welfare of the students and to ensure credibility of the examination, the university decided to conduct the test again and issue fresh admit cards to all the applicants.
This year, the B.Tech department received 39,654 applications, while BDS invited 6,603. This is the first time that the university has outsourced its entrance exam procedures to a private company. Over 75% applicants appeared for the B.Tech re-test today and over 80% applicants took the BDS examination on June 25, 2015.
Both the tests took place at all the notified test centres without any disruption.
The online admission procedure was handled by the Computer Maintenance Corporation (CMC), a subsidiary of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) in association with Jamia University. The university has taken this decision in order to provide a fair chance to all candidates and dismiss the undeserving ones.
The Vice Chancellor Prof. Talat Ahmad paid impromptu visits to different exam centres in order to collect the feedback from parents and examinees.
