Delhi University admissions 2015: Apply for Ph.D courses

Delhi University has begun the admission process for its Ph.D programmes for the upcoming academic session. The university is offering the Doctor of Philosophy courses under the Department of Environmental Studies, Botany, Genetics, Plant Molecular Biology and Biochemistry. The interested and eligible candidates may apply according to the prescribed format.
Eligibility criteria:
  • The candidates must have a Master's degree from a recognised university or institute. Their qualifying degree should be in the subject in which the candidate chooses to pursue the Ph.D
  • They should have a minimum score of 55 percent (50 percent for SC, ST and OBC categories) if their qualifying degree
  • The candidates who have the following qualifications are eligible to appear directly for the interview round

University of Calcutta begins admission process for M.Sc programmes

University of Calcutta has begun the admission process for its M.Sc programmes for the upcoming academic session. The university is offering the Master of Science programme in Biomedical Instrumentation. The course is jointly run by the University of Calcutta and the West Bengal University of Health Sciences (WBUHS). The interested and eligible candidates may apply according to the prescribed format.
Eligibility criteria: The candidates should have a graduate level degree in any of these disciplines- Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science, Electronic Science or any equivalent Science discipline. Their qualifying degree must be from a recognised institute or university.
Application procedure: The application form is available at the official website of the university, www.caluniv.ac.in. They are required to send the hard copy of the duly filled form to the university. The envelope encasing the application should read 'Application for M.Sc in Biomedical Instrumentation'. The candidates will be required to submit the original documents at the time of submission to 'Science News Association, 92, APC Road, Kolkata -700009'.

Lucknow University commences its admission process for Ph.D programmes 2015

The University of Lucknow (LU), Lucknow has released an admission notification, inviting applications from interested and eligible candidates to apply for its Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) program offered in the faculty of Arts, Commerce, Science, Education and Fine Arts for the session 2015.
Eligibility criteria
Educational qualification:
The candidates interested in applying for this programme must ordinarily hold a post-graduate degree with minimum of 55 percent of marks at the Master's degree level for being eligible for admission to the Ph.D programme. For SC/ST and Physically Challenged/ Disabled candidates, qualifying marks shall be 50 percent at master's degree level in the subject concerned.
Selection procedure
There would be two streams of applicants, namely those coming through Qualifying Entrance Test for Ph.D program (QET) and those who are exempted from the QET.

Delhi University has begun the admission process for its Ph.D programmes for the upcoming academic session. The university is offering a two-year Doctor of Philosophy course in Law. The programme is offered by the Faculty of Law. The interested and eligible candidates may apply according to the prescribed format.

Application procedure: The candidates can access the information brochure at the official website of Delhi University. They are required to submit their application along with a detailed research proposal to the concerned department of the university.
Application fee: The candidates are required to pay a fee of Rs 700. Those under the SC, ST, PwD, CW categories are to pay Rs 350.  The payment should be made through a Demand Draft, in favour of the 'Registrar, University of Delhi', payable at any bank in Delhi.

IIT Roorkee begins admissions for Ph.D programmes

IIT Roorkee has begun the admission process for its Ph.D programmes for the upcoming academic session. The university is offering full time and part time Doctor of Philosophy courses. The interested and eligible candidates may apply according to the prescribed format.
Eligibility criteria:
  • The candidates must have a Master's degree or its equivalent recognised university or institute
  • Their qualifying degree should be in the subject in which the candidate chooses to pursue the Ph.D
  • They should have a minimum score of 60 percent in their qualifying degree, or a CGPA of 6.5 on a scale of 10

Himachal Pradesh University (HPU), Shimla commences its admission process for M.Tech programme

Himachal Pradesh University (HPU), Shimla has invited applications from interested and eligible candidates to apply for its Master of Technology (M.Tech) program in Computer Science). The course will be of a 2 years duration.
Eligibility criteria
Educational qualification:
The candidates interested in applying for this programme must possess a master's degree with minimum of 55 percent marks (50 percent marks for SC/ST category), or equivalent grade point, in Mathematics/ Physics/ Electronics/ Computer Application(MCA)/ Computer Science /Information Technology/ 4 years bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology.

The candidates must have passed any examination, of university in foreign country, recognised as equivalent for the above purpose by equivalence committee of HP University or on recommendation of Association of Indian Universities with 55 percent marks (50 percent marks for SC/ST).

Karnataka Management Aptitude Test 2015: Results declared

The Karnataka Private Post Graduate Colleges' Association (KPPGCA) has declared the results for the Karnataka Management Aptitude Test (KMAT) 2015. The candidates who appeared for the exam can now check their results on the official website.
The can do so by following the steps mentioned below:

  • Enter our application number
  • Click on Login
The results will be displayed on the computer screen.
The Karnataka MAT is taken by students who want admission to any of these courses- Master of Business Administration (MBA), Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) and Master of Computer Application (MCA) programme, in private colleges across the state. KMAT 2015 was conducted on August 2.

IISWBM, West Bengal commences its admission process for M.Phil programme

The Indian Institute of Social Welfare and Business Management (IISWBM), Kolkata has invited applications from interested and eligible candidates to apply for its Master of Philosophy (M.Phil) in Management programme. The duration of the course will be of 2 years.
Eligibility criteria
Educational qualification:
The candidates interested in applying for this programme must have a master's degree in Management, Commerce, Social Welfare or its equivalent from Calcutta University, with 55 percent marks in aggregate (SC/ST with 50 percent marks) or with 60 percent marks in aggregate of any other recognised university from any discipline are eligible to apply.

The Central Board of Secondary Education is likely to declare the results of All India Pre- Medical/ Pre Dental Entrance Test (AIPMT) today i.e. August 17.The aspirants can obtain the results from the official website, the link for which is  cbseresults.nic.in. Also, the candidates can fetch the results from the official website of AIPMT, aipmt.nic.in.
How to check the results?In order to check the results, the candidates must follow the steps listed below:
  • Go to the official website
  • Click on the desired link
  • Thereafter the candidates are required to insert the registration number and date of birth
Submit the same. The results will be displayed on the screen. The candidates must take a print out for future use.

University of Calcutta invites applications for Ph.D admissions

The University of Calcutta, Kolkata has notified that it's now accepting applications for its Ph.D in Agricultural Chemistry and Soil Science programme 2015. The Doctor of Philosophy degree is offered by the Agricultural Chemistry and Soil Science for this session. The interested and eligible candidates may apply online according to the given format.
Eligibility criteria:
Educational qualification: The applicants should have a Master of Science (M.Sc) degree in Agricultural Chemistry and Soil Science. They should have a minimum score of 50 percent in their qualifying degree. The candidates must have obtained the degree from a UGC recognised university or institute.
Application procedure: The interested and eligible candidates can download the application format from www.caluniv.ac.in. University of Madras, Chennai commences its admission process for M.Sc Geoinformatics course

The University of Madras, Chennai has invited applications from interested and eligible candidates to apply for its Master of Science (M.Sc) program in Geoinformatics for the academic session 2015-2016, under private study (CBCS-semester pattern) offered at the Department of Geography. Adesh University, Bhatinda commences its admission process for BDS programme

IIT, NIT admissions: Last date for seat acceptance extended

The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) has extended the date for the seat acceptance for the fourth round of seat allotment through Joint Engineering Examination (JEE). The results of the fourth round of seat allotment for admissions to IITs, NITs and other technical institutes were declared by JoSAA on July 22, and the selected candidates had been allowed to accept or reject the seats allotted to them by July 26.
However, the authorities have decided to extend this date up till July 28. This is the first time that a joint seat allocation is being conducted for admissions to all IITs and NITs. The students need to qualify JEE Main Paper I and Paper II in order to be eligible for admissions to NITs, and as for the admissions to IITs, they are required to clear both, JEE Main and JEE Advanced.
The students who get a seat are required to report to their respective centres for admission to IITs and NITs. If the candidates fail to do so, then they will be excluded from the admission process and won't be eligible to participate in the subsequent allotment rounds either.

  • Their qualifying degree should be in the subject in which the candidate chooses to pursue the Ph.D
  • They should have a minimum score of 50 percent if their qualifying degree is an M.Phil; however if their Master's degree is not an M.Phil, then they are required to have scored at least 55 percent.

IIT-NIT admissions: Online filling-in of choices extended, last date today

The deadline for the online filling-in of choices and locking of preferences for JEE has been extended by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) 2015. The joint seat allocation process is being conducted for admissions to Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and other technical institutions across the country.
The students can now fill-in their  choices and preferences up till 5 pm today on the JoSAA online portal.
The official website of Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) 2015, for admission to IITs and ISM through JEE Advanced 2015 and to NITs, IIITs, Other GFTIs through JEE Main 2015 was launched on June 23.
There are a total of 87 participating institutes, 17 are Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), 31 are National Institutes of Technology (NITs), 18 are Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), 18 are Government Funded Technical Institutions (GFTIs) and Indian School of Mines (ISM).

JEE Main 2015: Revised ranks to publish on July 8

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has declared the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Main 2015 ranks on the official website of Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA), the link for which is: http://jeemain.nic.in/webinfo/welcome.aspx. The CBSE has released the notification that the revised list of All India JEE (main) ranks will be declared on July 8.
According to a report in Times of India, the CBSE officials said that, "28 education boards defaulted in sending the data on time."
The aspirants were waiting for the counseling procedure but due to the hindrance, it was not conducted.
JEE Main was conducted by CBSE on April 4, April 10 and April 11. This year, over 13 lakh students appeared for JEE Main exam out of which three lakh students chose online based exam.The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) is conducting the counseling procedure for admission to IITs and ISM through JEE Advanced 2015 and to NITs, IIITs, Other GFTIs through JEE Main 2015. The official website of JoSAA 2015 was launched on June 23.The information regarding JEE Main and other important exams can be obtained on the official website of JoSAA.
In total, there are a 87 participating institutes, 31 are National Institutes of Technology (NITs), 18 are Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), 17 are Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs),18 are Government Funded Technical Institutions (GFTIs) and Indian School of Mines (ISM).
