IIT Roorkee: M.Arch programme admissions 2014-15 open

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has invited applications for admissions to Masters of Architecture (M.Arch) programme for the session 2014-15. The interested and eligible candidates can apply latest by April 21.

Eligibility criterion:

Educational qualifications:
The candidates applying for the admissions are required to possess a Bachelors of Architecture (B.Arch) degree or an equivalent degree from a recognised university.

Selection process:
The candidates will be selected on the basis of normalized GATE marks or normalized GATE marks along with an interview and written test.
For sponsored candidates, the selection will be made on the basis of interview/ written test. Also, experience will be taken into account.

How to apply?
The candidates are required to apply online by logging on to the official website of the Institute.
The candidates are required to take a print out of the duly filled and submitted application form and send it to "The Chairman, PG Admissions Office, Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee-247667". The applications should be duly signed and should have enclosures attached along. The forms can be sent either by speed post or registered post.

Rajasthan Private Colleges Pre-Medical Test (PC-PMT) 2014

Federation of Private Medical & Dental College of Rajasthan, invites applications for All India Private College Pre-Medical Test (PC-PMT) 2014. PC-PMT 2014 entrance examination is conducted for admission to MBBS and BDS courses in private medical and dental colleges of the Federation.

. Eligibility criterion: 
  • Candidate should have 17 years of age on or before 31st December 2014.

JEE (Advanced) 2014: Study tips to help you ace the exam

As the first stage of the Joint Entrance Examination, JEE (Mains) 2014, comes to an end, it is time for engineering aspirants to brace themselves for the second round - JEE (Advanced) 2014.
Students who qualify the JEE (Main) exam are eligible to apply for the JEE (Advanced) starting from May 4. The registrations for the same will continue till May 9.

EAMCET 2014: Attention to Parents and Students

The Convener of EAMCET 2014 has issued an important notification to students and their parents, who have registered for EAMCET examination. 
 
According to the notification, students and parents have to stay away from fraudsters who promise to give them the EAMCET paper. They have advised the students on about cheaters, brokers and cons, who deceive and mislead candidates by promising them question papers through illegal means. 
 
 Students should not believe them or give any money to such people. Instead, they must inform the police or EAMCET authorities immediately. 
 
They have given an assurance that the informer's identity would be kept secret. EAMCET examination will be held in a fair and transparent manner and the ranks of candidates will be given purely on merit basis

Common Law Admission Test 2014 Important dates

The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2014 is to be held on May 11, 2014. But for law aspirants, whether you want to join an undergraduate law course (LLB) or a postgraduate law course (LLM) the process of admission to your desired Institute will begin after May 11, 2014.

AIIMS UG & PG (Nursing) Admissions 2014:

All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, declares admissions for M.Sc./M.Biotechnology/B.Sc. (Nursing) for the academic year 2014.
 
 Candidates seeking admissions to AIIMS for M.Sc./M.Biotechnology/B.Sc. (Nursing) have to write an online entrance examination.
 
 Admission will be made entirely on the basis of performance of candidates at the entrance examination to be conducted in Delhi. There shall be a uniform minimum cut-off of 50% marks (for all PG Courses) in the competitive entrance test as a condition of eligibility for all candidates.

*M.Sc./M.Biotechnology courses: 
The question paper for M.Sc./M. Biotechnology courses will be of 90 minutes duration consisting of 90 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) carrying 90 marks in the subject in which the candidates has applied.

GATE 2014: Qualifying marks for each subject

From the 8.8 lakh candidates having attempted the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2014 only 16.84 per cent of the candidates have successfully cleared the exam, according to the qualifying marks set by the GATE 2014 Committee. The qualifying marks criteria used for GATE 2014 have recently been released by IIT Kharagpur, the organizing institute of GATE 2014.

Only those candidates meeting the qualifying marks criteria set by the GATE 2014 Committee will receive their score cards and results through mail. From the 1, 49,694 candidates qualifying the exam, 85,063 are from General category, 42,287 are from OBC (NCL), 17,085 from SC, 4,224 from ST and 1,035 Persons with Disability. Only 31, 431 female candidates (from all categories) have qualified.

Rajasthan Pre-Veterinary Test (RPVT) 2014 to be held on 08th June

Rajasthan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Bikaner invites applications for Rajasthan Pre-Veterinary Test (RPVT) entrance examination for the year 2014. 
 
RPVT 2014 is the qualifying entrance examination which is conducted for admission to B.V.Sc and A.H degree course in the constituent colleges of the university namely College of Veterinary and Animal Science, Bikaner and College of Veterinary and Animal Science, Navania, Vallabhnagar, Udaipur. 
 
Eligibility criterion: 
  • The candidate must have passed senior secondary (10+2) or equivalent recognised examination taken in the subjects of English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology after 12 years of regular study. 
  • Further, the candidate must have passed separately in theory and practicals in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
  •  Further, the general category candidate must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English at senior secondary (10+2) or equivalent recognised examination.

How to apply for Rajasthan Pre-Engineering Test (RPET) 2014?

Board of Technical Education, Rajasthan, invites applications for Rajasthan Pre-Engineering Test (RPET) for the year 2014.
 
 RPET 2014 is the qualifying entrance examination which is conducted for admission to undergraduate engineering (B.Tech / B.E) courses in various government aided and private unaided technical institutions of Rajasthan.

Eligibility criterion: 
  •  Candidates must have passed 10+2 examination in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biotechnology or Biology as subjects from a Board of Secondary Education Rajasthan or Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) examination with 45% of marks (40% for SC/ST/OBC). 
  •   Candidates whose date of birth falls on or after 01st October 1989 are eligible. However, for SC/ST candidates upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years.

AIPMT 2014 scores to be used for AFMC: Applications begin April 20

The scores of AIPMT (All India Pre Medical entrance Test) 2014 will be used for admissions to undergraduate medical courses (MBBS) at the Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) for the academic year beginning 2014. Candidates interested in studying MBBS at the Armed Forces Medical College, Pune will be required to apply separately to AFMC as well. MBBS applications at AFMC will tentatively begin from April 20, 2014 and will be available online only. Around 130 seats are available for the MBBS course: 105 reserved for boys and 25 reserved for girls.

Uttarakhand Pre-Medical Test (UPMT) 2014 to be held on 18th May

Uttarakhand Pre-Medical Test (UPMT) for the year 2014 is scheduled to be held on 18th May. 
 
 UPMT 2014 entrance test is conducted for admission to MBBS and BDS courses in Government colleges in Uttarakhand, for the academic year 2014-15. 
 
Eligibility: 
  • Candidate must be a citizen of India. 
  •  Candidate must have passed 10+2 examination in science discipline with 50% of marks from any of the recognised board of examinations. Candidate must be 17 years of age as on 31st December 2014.

Entrance exam: 
UPMT 2014 entrance exam will have a question paper consisting of multiple choice questions. The question paper of UPMT 2014 shall have the questions based on Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects studied at HSC/10+2. The duration of UPMT 2014 entrance exam is 3 hours.
