CBSE to create better awareness on northeast states

As part of an attempt the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has developed course materials and project-based activities to sensitize students about the culture and heritage of the north eastern states.
In a letter thanking all its stakeholders CBSE chairperson Satbir Bedi draws attention to the steps being taken to create awareness about the region. This is being done as per the recommendations of Bezbaruah committee, which was constituted by the ministry of home affairs to look into the concerns of people from the northeast living in other parts of the country.
The CBSE has also included 25% questions on these states in the CBSE heritage quiz.
A filmmaking competition will also be organized on topics such as festivals, tourism, crafts and flora and fauna of the region.
The board has also approved to introduce four new languages - Rai, Gurung, Tamang and Sherpa - in the curriculum for the benefit of students in Sikkim.
There were several incidents of attack on people from the northeast states in the recent past.

CBSE date sheet for class X and XII released today

CBSE datesheet for class 10 and 12
The much awaited date sheet for the CBSE board exam is now available. While both Class 10th and Class 12th exams begin from March 02, 2015, the class 10th exams would finish by March 26, 2015 and Class 12th exams would end by April 17, 2015 (same as last year).
Last year around 22.65 lakh students had registered for the CBSE board exam 2014. This number was 21.76 lakh the year before 2014  i.e. in 2013 and is expected to rise this year as well. The increase in number of registered students has likely been caused by the increase in the number of schools joining under CBSE from various parts of the country.
