DU Second Cut off for Science Stream Published at http://www.du.ac.in/du/: Check now

Delhi University (DU) has declared the second cut off list on the official website for the academic year 2015-16. The candidates can check the cut off for the Science course on the official website for which the link is available: here: http://www.du.ac.in/du/uploads/Admissions/Cut-off/2015/Second/Science.pdf. The admission and payment of fees are open till July 4.
The second cut off for list is slightly dropped by 4 per cent which is a big relaxation for the candidates to take admission in the popular colleges. The total number of applications received this year 3,20,799 out of which 2,32,049 are online applications and the remaining 88,750 are offline applications.
Here is a list of colleges that have released the second cut off for Physics and Chemistry, this year:

Delhi University: Second cut-off list for commerce stream released

The second cut-off list for Delhi University admissions was released today. The lists for all subjects and courses are now available at the official website, www.du.ac.in.
In the first cut-off list, the highest cut-off for B.Com (Hons.) had been set by LSR, Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma College and College of Vocational Studies at 98 percent. SRCC kept the cut-off at 97.37 percent. As for the Economics (Hons.) courses, the highest cut-off was 98.25 percent for SRCC, followed closely by Hindu, Hans Raj, LSR, Kirori Mal and others, who set it at 98 percent.
The admissions in few colleges for these courses are already closed, such as Sri Venkateshwara College, A.R.S.D College, Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College and Dayal Singh College amongst othes.
The cut-offs for different colleges for B.Com (Hons.) and Economics (Hons.) courses for the second list are mentioned below:
B.Com (Hons.):
Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma College: 97.5 percent
College of Vocational Studies: 95.5 to 97.75 percent
Daulat Ram College: 96 percent

JEE Main and JEE Advanced 2015: Revised schedule for joint seat allocation

The filling-in of choices for joint seat allocation (JoSAA 2015) was set to start yesterday, however it was delayed again, and will now commence today. The students will be able to choose their college/course at www.josaa.nic.in.
This procedure was scheduled to begin on June 26, but it was postponed to June 29 as CBSE had not declared the ranks for JEE Main 2015 Paper 1 and Paper 2. The joint seat allocation was delayed again by one day, for the same reason.
The revised schedule for activities of the joint seat allocation, for admission to IITs-ISM, NITs, IIITs and other GFTIs is detailed below:
  • June 30 to July 4: Filling-in of choices
  • July 3: Mock seat allocation
  • July 5: Allocation/Validation of seats
  • July 6: Round one of seat allocation
  • July 7 to 11: Round one of seat acceptance (students to accept/reject the allocated seat)
  • July 12: Round two of seat allocation
  • July 13 to 16: Round two of seat acceptance
  • July 17: Round three of seat allocation
  • July 18 to 20: Round three of seat acceptance
  • July 21: Round four of seat allocation (NITs and Preparatory courses at IITs)
  • July 21: Academic session to begin at IITs
  • July 22 to 26: Round four of seat acceptance
  • July 22 to 26: Candidates to report in person for admissions to NITs
  • July 27: Academic session to begin for NITs and Preparatory courses at IITs
According to the notice, further schedule for admission to IITs will be announced online by July 26.

JEE Main 2015: Rank list postponed again

CBSE was to announce the JEE Main 2015 Paper 1 and Paper 2 rank yesterday, however the rank list has been delayed again. Initially, the ranks were to be declared by June 28, so that the filling-in of  choices for joint seat allocation (JoSAA 2015) could begin on June 29. Now, the official site of JEE Advanced states that the joint seat allocation process will begin today, so the JEE Main ranks are likely to be out today as well, as the filling-in of choices can commence only once the rank list is announced.
The official website of Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) 2015, for admission to IITs and ISM through JEE Advanced 2015 and to NITs, IIITs, Other GFTIs through JEE Main 2015 was launched on June 23.

JEE Main 2015: Rank list expected to release on June 29

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is likely to release the rank list for JEE Main 2015 today i.e. June 29, as the joint seat allocation process is set to begin. Earlier, the joint seat allocation was to commence on July 25, however, it was delayed due to the non-availability of JEE Main Paper 1 and Paper 2 ranks.
JEE Main 2015 was held by CBSE on April 4, April 10 and April 11. The results for the same were announced on April 27. Over 13 lakh candidates appeared for JEE Main, this year, out of which almost three lakh students took the exam, online.
Out of these, 11 lakh students are eligible for admissions to almost 34,000 seats to be offered by 85 participating institutions. The ranks of these candidates will be calculated by assigning 60 percent weightage to JEE Main score and 40 percent weightage to their score in Class 12.
Last week CBSE had issued a notice asking all education boards to submit the Class 12 marks, in order to prepare the All India Ranks (AIR). And if the marks are not received by CBSE by the due date, AIRs of such candidates will not be released and CBSE will not be responsible for the same.
The candidates who qualify JEE Main 2015 will get admissions in various institutes such as Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), National Institute of Technology (NIT) and Central Funded Technical Institute (CFTI). JEE Advanced is used for admission to Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) and Indian School of Mines (ISM).

MH-CET 2015: DMER publishes counselling dates

Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER) has published a list of candidates for Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MH CET) 2015 MBBS/BDS counselling. DMER has asked the students to join the colleges and the courses on or before July 3, failing which, their admission will be cancelled and they would be debarred from the admission process.
After the first counselling, the candidates will be shortlisted for the second counselling which will be conducted in the second week of July. The candidates will then be selected for admissions in MBBS and BDS courses in colleges, institutes and universities all over Maharashtra. The candidates must submit their documents and produce their certificates at the time of counselling.
MH CET is conducted for admission of candidates to 3000 MBBS and BDS seats in various government and Municipal Corporation, government aided health science institutions and privately aided medical health science institutions.

DMER  controls and regulates the administration of governmental colleges and hospitals along with various urban and rural health centres. It supervises the medical education in Maharashtra at undergraduate , postgraduate and super specialisation. It also co-ordinates the research activities in fundamental research, applied Research and operational research in the institutions under its control. AIMS Test for Management Admissions (ATMA): Results to be declared on July 2 at www.atmaaims.com

The results for the AIMS Test for Management Admissions (ATMA) will be declared on July 2. The competitive exam was conducted by Association of Indian Management Schools (AIMS) on June 21.
The candidates who appeared for the exam will be able to check their result at the official website, www..atmaaims.com. The paper tested the students on their analytical reasoning, quantitative and verbal skills.
Members of the Indian Management Schools (AIMS) felt the need to have a high quality test. The scores of this test will be used for the admission process. AIMS offers the ATMA test as a single window, comprehensive test for different post graduate management programmes. The scoring and administration of this test is done professionally. The candidates' suitability for management education and career can be decided by the ATMA scores which are highly dependable indicators. Verbal reasoning, numerical reasoning, analysing and synthesising ability scores will be supplied to the candidates.

University of Calcutta invites applications for Ph.D in Marine Science

University of Calcutta has begun the admission process for its Ph.D programmes for the upcoming academic session. The university is offering a Doctor of Philosophy course in Marine Science. The interested and eligible candidates may apply according to the prescribed format.
Eligibility criteria: The candidates must have an M.Sc in Marine Science or any equivalent qualification from a recognised university or institute. They should have a minimum score of 55 percent in their qualifying degree, if it is from University of Calcutta; however if their degree is from any other university, then they are required to have scored at least 60 percent.
Selection procedure: The candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance in the written test. Those who clear the exam will be called for an interview round.
Those who have passed NET, SLET, M.Phil or Teacher Fellowship are exempted from the test, and can appear for the interview directly.

Common Admission Test (CAT) to be conducted on one day this year

The testing pattern for Common Admission Test (CAT) has been changed again. Normally the competitive exam was conducted over a week's duration, last year this pattern was changed and the exam was conducted over two days in four sessions. This year, the test will be held only on one day, with two sessions.
This decision has been taken by the convenor of CAT 2015, IIM Ahmedabad. The number of exam centres has also been increased from 99 to 115. The authorities have informed that the female candidates will be allotted exam centres closer to their city of residence.
This new pattern has been approved by the CAT group meeting, and the reason for such change has been cited as the improvement of operational efficiency and quality of the exam content. The one day exam will aid transparency in scoring and normalisation of marks, i.e. awarding scores on the basis of difficulty level of the test.

North Maharashtra University has invited applications for M.A programme

North Maharashtra University (NMU) Jalgaon has invited applications for admission to Master of Arts (M.A) and Mass Communication & Journalism (MCJ) for the academic year 2015-16. The eligible candidates must send their applications in a prescribed format on or before July 10. The candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance in the entrance exam and interview. The entrance exam is scheduled to be on July 15
Eligibility criteria:
Educational qualification:The candidates must have acquired a degree in related field with 40 per cent from a recognised institute or board.
Selection procedure:The candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance in the entrance exam followed by group discussion and interview organised by the organisation.

AIIMS announces DM, M.Ch and MHA exam dates

All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) has announced the exam dates for DM/M.Ch/MHA. The entrance exams will be conducted on November 28.

Eligibility criteria:
Educational qualification:

For M.Ch: The candidates must possess an M.S degree in Surgery from AIIMS or any other university or institute recognised by the MCI.
For MHA: The candidates must have scored a minimum of 55 per cent marks in aggregate in all MBBS professional examinations for other category including OBC category and 50 per cent for candidate belonging to SCs/STs.
For DM: Candidate must possess a degree in MD/MS or DNB from a university recognised by the MCI.

How to apply:

Selection procedure:

The candidates will be selected on the basis of a written test which will be conducted by AIIMS.

Paper pattern:

The written test will be conducted for the duration 90 minutes duration and will carry 80 marks.
There will be a total of 50 multiple choice questions and other 30 questions will be short answer questions on clinical, practical and lab based topics.

Important dates:

The test will be conducted on November 28.
The result will be declared on November 30.

Almost 60 percent of candidates who qualified JEE Advanced are from CBSE

The results for JEE Advanced 2015 were declared last week, and almost 60 percent of the candidates who have been shortlisted for admissions to IITs are from the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
These results are an outcome of the new criteria set for short-listing candidates, in which greater weightage is assigned to the students' Class 12 scores. About 75 percent of the qualified candidates are from four boards, i.e. CBSE, Rajasthan Board, Maharashtra Board and Andhra Pradesh Board.
A total of 1,787 candidates are from Maharashtra Board and 1,610 candidates are from Rajasthan Board.
The competitive exam was conducted on May 24 and results for the same were declared on June 18. A total of 1,24,741 candidates registered for the exam, out of which 1,27,238 appeared for the exam. And only 26,456 candidates have managed to qualify JEE Advanced.
Boys outperformed girls in the exam, with 23,407 of the qualified candidates being male and just 3,049 female candidates.

Ambedkar University Delhi (AUD) has invited applications for admission into BA, MA and post graduate diploma for the academic session 2015-16. According to a report in Times of India, media coordinator of AUD , Sharmistha Roy said, "The candidates can further continue registrations for all BA and MA programmes till today i.e. June 23. The university has extended the date for the registration and fee payment till noon.
She added further in a report, "Due to the extraordinary rush for the online application process during the past two days leading to slowing down of the system, many candidates have been finding difficulty to register their application. Large numbers of applicants have paid the application fee, but were not able to submit the completed form."
The candidates can apply through the official website fro which the link is available here: www.aud.ac.in.The candidates are required to keep scanned copies of photo and signature in JPG/JPEG format (size less than 50 kb and must not exceed 200*200 pixels) at the time of filling the application form.
Application fee:General: An application fee of Rs 440 is to be paid by the candidates for the postgraduate programme and Rs 330 for undergradudate programme.
SC/ST/PD candidates: An application of Rs 180 is to be paid by the candidates for the postgraduate programme and Rs 130 for the undergradudate programme

AIPMT 2015: Re-Examination on July 25

The re- examination of All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Test (AIPMT) 2015 will be conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on July 25. The new applications will not be received for this examination. The aspirants who have given the examination earlier will appear for the re-exam.
The new admit cards will be issued by the CBSE to all the candidates. The candidates must carry the admit cards in the examination premises/hall, failing for which they will not be allowed in the examination. The entrance test will be conducted on July 25. The declaration of results of the AIPMT was scheduled to be on June 5 but was ruined by a paper-leak where as many as 700 students received answer keys through mobile phones during the exam held on May 3.
AIPMT is conducted for taking admission to Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) programs under 15% merit of all India quota seats in government medical/dental colleges all over India except the States of Andhra Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir for the academic session 2015-16.
