Scholastic Aptitude Test 2014: Last minute tips and tricks

Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT), the globally recognised college admission test, is scheduled on October 11, 2014. SAT scores are considered by the US colleges or universities for admissions to undergraduate programmes. SAT is conducted by the College Board, which is a non-profit organisation and committed to the principles of excellence and equity.
With just two days to go for the examination to get conducted, here are some tips and strategies that will help the applicants in their last minute preparation:
  • For writing section, read a lot of books, make a list common topics and practise writing.
  • Develop creativity in writing and take extra care of grammar and vocabulary.
  • In the reading section, read the comprehension carefully and try to find the underlying idea of the comprehension.

IFS 2014 exam important dates announced

UPSC which conducts the Indian Forest Service(IFS) Examination  has released the date sheet for the written exams. The IFS exams which are held for the recruitment of various posts will begin from November 22, 2014 and last till December 03, 2014. The exams will be held in two sessions -Morning Session (9:30 am to 12:30pm) and Afternoon session (2:00pm to 5:00pm).

Question paper patter for IIT-JEE 2015 available.

The question paper pattern for the 2015 exam has now been made available for the aspiring candidates.JEE is conducted by Indian Institute of Technology (IIT)- Bombay across the country.

The pattern of the exam paper is as follows-

There will be two papers - Paper I and Paper II

Each paper will be divided into three sections - Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics

All three sections will have objective type questions based on multiple choice and numeric answer type questions to test comprehension, reasoning and analytical ability of the candidates.

  • Enhance your debate skills. Work on your language and style of presenting it. Prove your point without getting aggressive or using foul language.
  • Pitch your voice according to the discussion taking place in the GD. It might be a health discussion rather than a debate and so you must keep in with the sink.

JEE (Advanced) 2015 exam dates announced

Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2015 will be conducted on May 24, 2015.

Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is an all India common entrance examination conducted to provide admission in various engineering courses. Candidates who wish to appear in JEE (Advanced) 2015 have to appear for JEE(Main) 2015 which is likely to be held on the month of April 2015. 

JEE  (Advanced) 2015 will be conducted by the seven zonal Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). The performance of a candidate in this examination will form the basis for admission to the Bachelor's, Integrated Master's and Dual Degree programs (entry at the 10+2 level) in the sixteen IITs and the Indian School of Mines (ISM).

Tips to Crack KVPY Exam


  • Check the previous year KVPY exam question papers and check where you stand and it will help you to analyze your strengths and weaknesses based on your existing preparations for the exam.
  • Refer and choose NCERT study material thoroughly, cracking KVPY becomes easier.
  • Go for Group study. Studying with friends will help to clear the doubts and helps in practice and study further
  • You need to make a habit of revising topics which you have done earlier so that you don’t forget what you have already learnt. The daily practice and revision are key factors to get speed and accuracy in solving questions.
  • There is no set syllabus for KVPY written exam. So integrate the syllabus of regular class X/XI/XII studies with KVPY preparations.

Wset Bengal Joint Entrance Exam dates for 2015 announced

West Bengal Joint Entrance Exam announces dates for the next year.

WBJEE  2015 exam to be held in April 2105 as told by WBJEE.

According to WBJEE, the entrance exam for next year will take place on April 18 and 19, 2015. The online registration for the exam will begin from the first week of December 2014.

West Bengal Joint Entrance Exam is a state-government controlled centralized exam for a number of medical and engineering colleges of West Bengal. Students can take the exam after 12th for admission to graduation courses. Around 3 lakh students from both CBSE and ISC boards take the test every year. Only students from PCB or PCM streams are eligible for this test. It is the most prestigious test in West Bengal .

JEE Advanced-2015: Courses offered by IITs and ISM

IITs and ISM offer Bachelor’s, Integrated Master’s or Bachelor-Master courses in Engineering, Science, Architecture, Design or Pharmaceutics. After completion of  Bachelor courses, graduate degree is awarded and graduate and post graduate degrees (dual degrees) are awarded after completion of Integrated Master’s or Bachelor-Master courses. In some of the IITs, there are options for the students to convert their 4-year Bachelor’s program into B. Tech. (Honors) and/or B. Tech. with Minors.

KEAM-2015: Exam dates are announced

Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Kerala has announced the examination date of KEAM 2015 Entrance Exam.  Kerala Engineering Agricultural Medical (KEAM) is conducted for the admission in the undergraduate professional degree courses (such as Engineering, Medicine and Dental etc.) of the government and the private engineering and the medical colleges of the state.
