ICAI Commerce Wizard 2016 exam dates released, check details

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India is going to conduct Commerce Wizard 2016 for school children. ICAI is the career counseling committee which measures the understanding ability of the students. The Commerce Talent Search Test is a diagnostic test and it is called as Commerce Wizard 2016.
Basically, this Commerce Wizard 2016 test is a new Ability Test or Talent Search or Talent Hunt Test under the ICAI’s initiative.
Eligibility & Registration Process for Students:
This test is conducted for students appearing for Class 9, 10, 11, 12 examinations. Students registered under open distance learning will also eligible for appearing in the above mentioned test.
Registration Fees: Rs. 100/- per candidate.
How to apply: Register Online & Pay Online: Register online through this website through the Credit Card or Debit Card (ATM Card) or net banking payment of Rs. 100/- within due date or Rs. 150/- after due date.
Exam Pattern: The Commerce Wizard 2016 Test will be conducted in two levels. It will be conducted in English language only. Question papers are suitable for students of CBSE/ ICSE or any other national boards or open schools and various state boards conducting Secondary/ Senior Secondary Examination.
Important Dates:
  • Last Date of Online Registration with online payment (For Individual & School registration): December 31, 2016
  • Last Date of Online Registration with online payment late fees (For Individual & School registration): January 5, 2017
  • Date of the First level Exam: Jan 8, 2017
  • Date of the Second level Exam: Jan 15, 2017
Objectives of Commerce Wizard 2016 Exam: This exam act as a tool for talent search in Commerce stream. It also helps in selecting meritorious students to grant financial award as well recognition; in turn motivate to achieve excellence. This exam also project ICAI as a premier accounting Body which can act as a tool for empowerment of the students.

Kochi: Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology, a Deemed to be University, Valiamala P.O., Thiruvananthapuram, has announced the details related to the admissions to the Under Graduate and Dual-degree programmes offered by the Institute for the academic year 2017-18.
IIST will admit students to the 4-Year B.Tech Programme in Aerospace Engineering (60 seats), 4-Year B.Tech Programme in Avionics (60 seats) and 5-Year Dual Degree (B.Tech. M.S./M.Tech.) Programme (20 seats). The 5-year Dual Degree programme leads to B.Tech. degree in Engineering Physics and one of M.S. in Solid State Physics/Astronomy & Astrophysics/Earth System Science or M.Tech. in Optical Engineering. There is no exit option at the end of four years.
Applicants must be Indian Citizens. Those belonging to the General/OBC categories must have been born on or after October 1, 1992. Those belonging to SC/ST and Persons with Disabilities (PD) categories must have been born on or after October 1, 1987.

Class X CBSE Board exams set to be back from 2018

NEW DELHI: Board exams for Class X are set to become compulsory for all CBSE students from 2018, three language formula could be extended till Class X and foreign language might be treated as fourth and “elective”, according to decisions taken by the CBSE on Tuesday.
At the meeting of CBSE’s governing body, its members “unanimously” agreed that from the academic session 2017-18, compulsory Board exams should be introduced for all students of Class X, sources told PTI here.
The decision will now have to be approved by the government before it is implemented. Currently, it is optional for CBSE students to choose either the Board exam or a school based examination.
HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar has in the past favoured making Board exam compulsory for CBSE students as is the practice in all state boards.
The sources said while there is a view that for the Class X Board exams, 80% weightage will be given to the marks scored in examinations while 20 percent weightage will be given to school-based evaluation.
In another key decision, the CBSE has decided to recommend to the HRD ministry that the three language formula, under which Hindi, English and Indian language are taught, should be extended to class IX and X as well from the current VI to VIII, a source said.

JEE Main 2017 Application Form, Exam Dates, Eligibility

JEE Mains is one of the top level examinations of India. JEE is a 2 stage examination conducted by CBSE Board. The interested candidates can get admissions in UG eng./architecture courses in NITs, IITs and other institutions through JEE Mains examination, whereas IITs provide admissions to eligible candidates through JEE Advanced examination. The qualified candidates of JEE Mains will be eligible to take up JEE Advanced examination.

Important Changes Made in JEE Main 2017

  • There will be no weightage for higher secondary marks in calculating the ranks in JEE Main examination.
