Common admission Test CAT 2014 Exam notification


 CAT is an all-India test conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) as an entrance examination for the management programs offered by its business schools (B-schools) as well as other top Master of Business Administration (MBA) schools. This year CAT 2014 will be conducted in 2 days testing window on 16 November & 22 November 2014 in 4 sessions of morning and afternoon instead of 21 days in 99 cities at 354 testing sites.

UPSC CDS Examination II: Syllabus

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is conducting a competitive examination termed as 'Combined Defence Services (CDS) Exam II for short-listing candidates at various posts in the departments including Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy, Air Force Academy and Officers Training Academy. Candidates can apply by August 18.
The standard of the papers in Elementary Mathematics will be of Matriculation level. The  standard of papers in other subjects will approximately be such as may be expected of a graduate of an Indian university.
Syllabus
English
The question paper will be designed to test the candidates' understanding of English and workmanlike use of words.
General Knowledge
It includes current events and matters of everyday obeservations and exeperiences in their scientific aspects. The paper will also include questions on History of India and Geography.

NIIT University admissions 2014: B.Tech programmes

NIIT University (NU), Alwar has invited applications for admissions to four-year Bachelors of Technology (B.Tech) programme for the session 2014-2018. Candidates can apply latest by July 31.

Madras University opens admissions for M.Sc Geoinformatics

University of Madras, Chennai, has invited applications for admissions to Masters of Science (M.Sc.) programme in Geoinformatics. This two-year programme will be offered at the Department of Geography under private study (CBCS-semester pattern). The interested and eligible candidates can apply latest by July 31.
Eligibility criteria:
The candidates willing to take admissions to this course are required to possess a BA/ B.Sc degree having subjects such as Geography/ Geology/ Physics/ Environmental Sciences/ Computer Science/ Computer Applications/ Information Technology/ Agriculture/ Remote Sensing as the main subject of study or Geography as one of the subjects of study. RGIPT B.Tech Admission 2014-15: Provisional Merit List

Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology (RGIPT) has announced provisional merit list for B. Tech admission 2014 on July 17, 2014. The candidates will be given admissions in various undergraduate engineering programmes on merit basis of JEE Advanced 2014. The final merit list will be prepared from those who deposit the fees by July 23, 2014 (Wednesday).

CTET September 2014: Exam Notification

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Delhi will conduct Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) for determining a candidate's eligibility for appointment as a teacher for classes I to VIII on September, 21, 2014 (Sunday).

CTET shall apply to schools of NCT of Delhi, Central Government (KVS, NVS, Tibetan Schools, etc) and schools under the administrative control of Union Territories. CTET may also apply to other institutions like unaided private schools and other state government schools, if they exercise the option of considering the CTET.

UPSC NDA/ NA (II) 2014: Syllabus and paper pattern

The application process for UPSC's NDA/ NA (II) exam is open till July 21, 2014. Interested candidates can apply online through the official website: www.upsconline.nic.in

Gauhati University notifies for M.S admissions 2014

Gauhati University (GU) has invited applications for admission to two-year Master of Science (M.S)  programme in Chemical Science, Mathematical Science and Physical Science programmes for the commencing session 2014.
Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates should have a four-year B.S. degree in relevant subject passed from Gauhati University.
How to Apply:

JEE Mains AIRs declared: Documents required for verification

The AIRs for the candidates who appeared for JEE (Mains) have been declared. The rank card consists of the 'All India rank', 'state rank' and 'category rank' of the candidate. It includes the total marks scored by a candidate along with the marks scored by them in individual subjects.
The JEE (Main) counseling session by CSAB for seat allotment  will begin now. For candidates who are eligible to attend the counseling sessions, a list of documents required for verification has been mentioned below:
  • Printout of locked choices and terms and conditions taken from the CSAB website and duly signed by the candidate;
  • Printout of provisional allotment letter;

JEE (Mains) 2014 All India Ranking has been announced by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), the competent authority which conducted the national level test for engineering after much delay.

JEE (Main) counseling: Difference between withdrawal, surrender, not reporting

The JEE (Main) All India Ranks (AIRs) for the session 2014 have been declared. The candidates will have to report for the counselling session for the allotment of seats .
The candidates seem to be confused about 'withdrawal', 'surrender' and 'not reporting'. Here's what it means:
Withdrawal: If a candidate gets a 'Provisional Admission Letter' after reporting to any reporting centre and later requests to withdraw from the entire process of admission, it is termed as withdrawal. Such candidates will only be permitted to register for spot round.
Surrender: If a candidate is allotted a seat in any of the I, II or III rounds and then the candidate reports to any reporting centre, opts for Option I and gets a 'Provisional Admission Letter' but he/ she is not satisfied with the allotted seat. 

GATE 2015: List of qualifying disciplines

The GATE 2015 application process is set to begin on September 1, 2014. Candidates can apply for the same online through the zonal GATE websites of IISc or any of the seven IITs.
The GATE 2015 score will be valid for a period of three years from the date of announcement of results. All the papers in GATE 2015 will be held in online mode only and some exams will be conducted in multiple sessions.

Tips for self study for cracking IIT/JEE Entrance Exams

The students must remain motivated, set up a routine, should be careful in selecting study material, should prepare a competitive study group and also should pay attention to time management.

JEE (Advanced) 2014 second round of seat allotment open

Joint Entrance Examination has closed the seat acceptance and first round of seat counselling and declared the second round of allotment.

The Board notified that the candidates expecting a seat in this round, have to login to JOCSAP, accept the allotted seat by making online payment and thereafter upload relevant documents (mark sheet of qualifying examination, declaration on acceptance). Payment should be made online or through bank draft and should be received by July 10, 2014 by 5 pm.

Candidates who accepted seat online in the first round may login to JOCSAP to know their allotment in the second round.

Freshly allotted candidates must ensure their eligibility under the "top 20 percentile cut off marks" criterion while filling the 'Declaration on Acceptance' form. Any candidate making a false declaration will be removed from the seat allocation process of the final round without notice.

The notification for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2014-15 has been announced. Candidates applying for GATE 2014 -15 may refer the below notification.
GATE is an entrance exam for students seeking higher education including Master and Doctoral programmes. It is an all India examination that largely examines a comprehensive understanding of various undergraduate subjects in engineering and technology.
GATE is conducted by the Indian Institute of Science and seven IITs such as  IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras and IIT Roorkee.
