JEE Main 2020 (April Attempt) | Registration begins from 7th February

JEE Main is a national level screening test conducted every year conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA). Through this exam, candidates will get admission into various UG engineering seats offered by all IITs and NITs across the country.
JEE Main 2020 April Registration Process | Begin from 07th February 2020
Eligibility:
  • No there is no age limit to apply for JEE Main Exam.
  • Candidates who have passed class 12th / equivalent examination in 2018, 2019 or appearing in 2020 irrespective of their age can appear in JEE Main 2020.

Admit Cards Availability: JEE Main Admit Card for the April attempt will be uploaded at official website 16th March’2020. Candidates can download the same by using their Application Number & Date of birth.
Steps to register:
  • Application form to be filled & submitted online through website www.nta.ac.in.
  • Upload Scanned Images of Candidate’s Photograph and Candidate’s Signature
  • Payment by Debit/ Credit Card/ Net Banking/ UPI/ PAYTM
  • Download the confirmation page
Note: For candidates who appeared in January; they can directly login with their January Enrollment Number & can pay the fees accordingly.
Reservation Criteria:
Categories JEE Main Reservation Percentage
Scheduled Caste (SC) 15%
Scheduled Tribe (ST) 7.50%
OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) 27%
A Person with Disabilities (40% or more disability) 3%

Documents Required for JEE Main 2020

The mandatory documents that are needed for the candidature in JEE Main 2020 Exam:
  • Identity Card: Any Proof of Identity in the form of PAN Card, Drivers Licence, Voter ID, Aadhaar Card (not compulsory).
  • Photograph and Signature: Scanned copies Signature and Photograph are needed.
  • Educational Documents: Class 10th Marksheet and Certificate, Class 12th Marksheet are required.
  • Caste Certificate (if applicable): Caste certificate required for SC or ST.

Number of Subjects in Qualifying Exam

  • It is mandatory for a candidate aspiring to take JEE Main 2020 to pass the qualifying exam with 5 subjects in total.

Minimum score required to qualify the Exam:

  • For general category candidates – minimum 75% marks in aggregate.
  • For SC/ST/PWD candidates – 65% marks in aggregate.

Compulsory Subjects:

  • B.E/B.Tech – Compulsory subjects in the form of Mathematics and Physics along with either of Chemistry, Biology or Biotechnology as the subjects in any of the qualifying examinations.
  • B.Arch – Any of the qualifying exams needs to be passed with Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry.
  • B. Planning – Mathematics is a compulsion as a passing subject.

Total Attempts

JEE Main examination is conducted twice a year in January & April month. So candidate can appear for the examination for consecutive 3 years. So the candidate has a total number of 6 attempts.

Eligibility for Admission to NITs/ IITs/ CFTIs

  • Admission to NITs/ IITs/ CFTIs will be based on AIR (All India Rank) secured by the candidate.
  • Also, the candidate must have secured at least 75% marks in 10+2 exams or be in the top 20 percentile in 10+2 conducted by the respective Board. 
  • For SC/ ST candidates, the qualifying marks in 10+2 are 65% or more.
