Besides creating two additional seats, Panjab University (PU),
Chandigarh, has decided to relax eligibility by 10 % marks for students
from Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) educational institutions in all
recognised higher education institutions of the university.
The decision was taken at the PU syndicate meeting on Monday. The
decision was taken following a letter from University Grants Commission
(UGC) in which, as a part of the special scholarship scheme for
J&K, UGC had requested all the universities of the country to create
two seats under supernumerary quota.
The syndicate also approved relaxation and concessions to J&K students in admission to PU from the next session.
