IIT Bombay CEED 2016: Paper pattern


IIT Bombay CEED 2016

The Indian Institute Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) is set to conduct the Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED) 2016. The Common Entrance Examination for Design is being conducted for admissions to the Master of Design (M.Des) course offered by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad and IIT Kanpur, and also for the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) programme in Design offered by IISc Bangalore, IIT Bombay, IIT Hyderabad and IIT Kanpur for the academic session 2016.
The paper pattern for the competitive exam is mentioned below:
  • The exam will be divided into two parts, i.e. Part A and Part B.
  • Part A: This will be a Computer Based Test (CBT) and comprises of three parts, namely Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), Numerical Ability Test (NAT) and Multiple Selection Questions (MSQ). The candidates will get one hour to attempt this section
  • Part B: This section will test the candidates on their designing skills.

CEED 2016: Again registration date extended

The Indian Institute Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) is set to conduct the Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED) 2016 on December 6, 2015. Again, the registration date has been extended to September 10. The candidates can download the admit cards at the official website from November 7 to December 5.
To know how to apply, the candidates must follow the steps listed below
  • File containing your recent colour photograph (.jpg file)
  • File containing your signature (.jpg file)
  • Scanned copy of your category certificate (.pdf file) for SC/ST or OBC categories (Appendix B and C)
  • Scanned copy of your PwD certificate (.pdf file) issued by an appropriate authority for PwD category (Appendix D)

IIT Bombay CEED 2016: Last day to register

The Indian Institute Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) is set to conduct the Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED) 2016 on December 6, 2015. The registration date will be concluded today i.e. September 7. The candidates can download the admit cards at the official website from November 7 to December 5.

The candidates must have acquired the following degrees.

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Design or Interior Design or its equivalent (four-year programme after 10+2).
  • Professional Diploma in Design (NID/CEPT or its equivalent of four-year programme after 10+2).
  • B.F.A. (four-year professional programme after 10+2).
  • G.D. Art (five-year programme after Class 10) with one year post qualification professional experience
  • Master's degree in Arts, Science or Computer Applications (two-year programme after 10+2+3)

Foreign Faculty Members under GIAN Programme for IITs, IIMs and IISc

Under the Global Initiative of Academic Networks (GIAN) programme, some of the major higher education academic institutes like IIMs, IITs and IISc would get foreign faculty members for this academic year. The national coordinator for collaborating with institutes like IITs, IIMs, IISc, and NITs under GIAN has been selected to be IIT-Kharagpur.
According to the Director of IIT Kharagpur, Professor P P Chakrabarti they have planned 500 such courses by foreign teachers for the academic year 2015-16. For this purpose there has been outlay of about Rs. 35 crore. There would be faculty members joining in as distinguished, adjunct, visiting faculty or professor of practice for various institutes. There would be other faculty members would come by to deliver short or semester long courses in these institutes. Such courses would be for credit and would be made available by the host institution for participation from other institutions.

Appearing for GATE 2016 ? Check out the eligibility criteria


GATE 2016

The GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) 2016 is scheduled to be held from January 30 till February 7 next year. The exam will be conducted by IISC (Indian Institute of Science), Bangalore so as to provide admission to students in Master of Engineering degree programs.
GATE 2016 will be jointly administered by the IISc and seven IIT's namely Mumbai, Delhi, Kanpur, Roorkee, Madras, Kharagpur, Guwahati.
From September 1, the online registration for GATE will commence and the last date for online filling of forms is October 1.
The syllabi for GATE 2016 papers have been revised and differs from those of GATE 2015.
Changes introduced
Earlier there were total 22 papers, but now after the introduction of a new stream namely, Petroleum Engineering (PE) the total number of papers is 23.

The Indian Institute Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) has notified the schedule for the Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED) 2016. The exam is scheduled to be conducted on December 6, 2015.
Eligibility criteria:
The candidates should have any of the following degrees:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Design or Interior Design or its equivalent (four-year programme after 10+2).
  • Professional diploma in Design (NID/CEPT or its equivalent of four-year programme after 10+2).
  • B.F.A. (four-year professional programme after 10+2).

IISC announces GATE 2016 exam dates: Check out other important details



GATE 2016

IISC has announced the exam dates for GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) 2016. The exam is expected to take place on January 30 till February 7 next year. IISC, Bangalore conducts the exam to provide admission to students in Master of Engineering degree programs. The score obtained in GATE 2016 will be valid for a period of three years only from the date of announcement of results.
GATE 2016 will be jointly administered by the IISc and seven IIT's namely Mumbai, Delhi, Kanpur, Roorkee, Madras, Kharagpur, Guwahati.
From September 1, the online registration for GATE will commence and the last date for online filling of forms is October 1.
The syllabi for GATE 2016 papers have been revised and differs from those of GATE 2015. Earlier there were total 22 papers, but now after the introduction of a new stream namely, Petroleum Engineering (PE) the total number of papers is 23. The duration of the examination will be 3 hours. There will be 65 questions and maximum marks will be 100. The examination will be an online computer based test (CBT), which will contain multiple choice questions (MCQ).

Joint Admission Test for MSc (JAM) is conducted by the Indian Institute of Science Bangalore (IISc) and Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) for candidates seeking admissions to Integrated PhD degree programmes at IISc Bangalore and MSc (two years), Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D., M.Sc.-PhD dual degree, M.Sc.-M.Tech., M.Sc.-M.S.(Research)/ PhD dual degree and other post-Bachelor's degree programmes at IITs.
The application process for JAM is a four step process:

Step 2: Filling in the application forms;
Step 3: Payment of application fee
