Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIA), Bangalore conducts IISAT each year at centers distributed over different parts of India for admission to academic programmes. It is a premier institute devoted to research in astronomy, astrophysics and related physics.
This year IIA screening test (IISAT) will be held in December for providing entry to Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) offered jointly with Pondicherry Central University and integrated Master of Technology (M.Tech)-Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) programmes offered jointly with University of Calcutta for the academic session 2015.

Eligibility: Candidates must hold a degree in M.sc/ B.E/B. tech/M.E/M.tech with 55 per cent marks in aggregate from a recognised institution.
Selection: Candidates will be scrutinised on the basis of an interview by the selection committee. Final decision will be conveyed to them officially.
How to apply:
- The application process will be conducted in two processes:
- Eligible applicants will have to register themselves online on the institute's website which will provide them with a login ID
- By logging with the user ID, candidates can fill in applications. Original documents/certificates must be brought along at the time of the interview for verification.
- Last date to apply online - October 30, 2014
- Date of examination - December 13, 2014
- Declaration of result - December 18, 2014
