Delhi University admissions 2015: Delhi School of Economics begins admissions for Ph.D programmes

Delhi University has begun the admission process for its Ph.D programmes for the upcoming academic session. The university is offering a Doctor of Philosophy course in Geography. The programme is offered by Delhi School of Economics (DSE). The interested and eligible candidates may apply according to the prescribed format.
Eligibility criteria:
  • The candidates must have an M.Phil or any other Master's degree from Delhi University or ay other recognised university or institute
  • Their qualifying degree should be in the subject in which the candidate chooses to pursue the Ph.D
  • They should have a minimum score of 50 percent if their qualifying degree is an M.Phil; however if their Master's degree is not an M.Phil, then they are required to have scored at least 55 percent.
The candidates who have the following qualifications are eligible to appear directly for the interview round:
  • Those who have completed an M.Phil degree along with a Fellowship
  • Foreign students (except those who obtained their degree in India) who have completed a Fellowship which is recognised by Delhi University
  • Permanent teachers at university or college level, who  teach Geography in Delhi University, and have been in service for at least two years
Application procedure: The candidates can access the information brochure at the official website of Delhi University. They are required to submit a detailed research proposal to the Office Department of Geography, Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi
Selection procedure: The candidates will be selected on the basis of their research proposal and an interview round.
Important dates: Last date for submitting applications for is July 31.
The interview round will be conducted on August 10.
