JEE Main 2015 ranks rise after Class 12 marks revised

JEE Main ranks

On Friday, the students who appeared for JEE Main 2015 could see their revised ranks. The students' Class 12 scores increased after the re-evaluation, which led to an increase in their ranks by a margin of few hundred and even thousands in some cases.
Though the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) did not release any official notification regarding the revised rank list, the students were able to view their new ranks.
The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) ensured students that they will be allotted seats according to their merit and revised ranks. For this, the students should have filled-in their choices of courses and colleges in a decreasing order of preferences.
However, as the students had mentioned their options in accordance with their original ranks, they are not sure if they'll be allotted a better seat now. This is because the first round of allotment had been concluded by the time the revised ranks were released, and the students are not permitted a second chance to fill-in their choices.

This is the first time that the seat allocation is being conducted jointly for IITs and NITs. There are a total of 87 participating institutes, 17 are Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), 31 are National Institutes of Technology (NITs), 18 are Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), 18 are Government Funded Technical Institutions (GFTIs) and Indian School of Mines (ISM).
