Panjab University begins B.Ed admissions

Panjab University, Chandigarh has begun the admission process for its Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) programme, for the upcoming academic session. The course will be run by University School of Open Learning (USOL), which offers a total of 800 seats. The interested and eligible candidates can apply according to the prescribed format.
Eligibility criteria: The candidates should have a Master's degree or a Bachelor's degree from a recognised university or institute. If there degree is in Humanities, Science, Social Science or Commerce, they must have a minimum score of 50 percent marks. Or, if their degree is in engineering or technology with specialisation in Science and Mathematics they must have a minimum score of 55 percent marks.
Application procedure: The candidates are required to apply online at www.usolbed.puchd.ac.in. After completing the online application and payment of fee process, they are required to send a printed copy of the application to the ' Assistant Registrar (Establishment) Room no. 103, Ground Floor University School of Open Learning Panjab University, Chandigarh-160014'.

Application fee: The candidates under the General category are required to pay a fee of Rs 800 and those under the SC, ST, BC and PH categories have to pay Rs 400.
Selection procedure: The university will conduct a written exam. The candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance in this test.
Important dates:
  • The online application forms have been made available from July 20
  • Last Date for depositing the fee in any branch of SBI using website generated challan is August 19
  • Last Date for uploading photograph and signature with rest of the information on the website is August 21
  • Last date for receipt of printed copies of application form is August 26
  • The last date for candidates to submit their online applications is August 16.
  • The counselling sessions will be conducted from August 4 to 5.
